We started with a nice house in the Hollywood Hills then GLYNN made it shine; GLYNNdesign was stellar! Their taste, advice, and counsel are second-to-none. If you want a job done well, not some Home Depot-like spit and shine, consult then hire this talented team! There were several issues with my job, but they worked their way around the problems to magically create a masterpiece. Excellent work. I am thrilled with the house, the quality of the job, and the compliments I get. They morphed my average house into the best home in the block! Thanks!

When my husband and I decided to completely remodel our house, the design possibilities were overwhelming. Paint colors, tiles, granite, appliances, furniture, artwork etc. I had a style in mind and so did my husband, but we were having trouble blending our ideas. We hired Kathleen and her team at Tower Design. Kathleen really listened to us and took the time to get to know us. She brought in beautiful options for us to choose from and was very conscious of our budget mixing affordable with more expensive items where needed. she did a wonderful job blending our tastes and using some important existing pieces we had. The end result is exactly what we wanted, even though we really didn't know exactly what we wanted when we started. But what we have is a beautiful home that feels like us. Bravo Tower design!

I had the pleasure of working with Genna for six months through the GMI 6 MONTH MEMBERSHIP. During that time, she greatly assisted me in furnishing my new house. Genna is passionate, responsive and enthusiastic, and always gave me her honest opinion. She has excellent taste and guided me through choosing furniture, rugs, window treatments, paint colors, and the arrangement of furniture. Another thing I appreciate about Genna is that she does not impose her own taste onto you, but rather tries to understand your own style and guides you accordingly. I look forward to working with her again in the future!

The Hartford, CT apartment designed by Jared Frank of Topsy Design is not our primary residence. But for me and my husband of nearly forty years, opening the door here feels like being home. We bought this apartment because of the building’s proximity to my work, as well as cultural institutions, entertainment, and restaurants in this small and increasingly vibrant city. After selecting the building, designed by I.M. Pei, we considered at least twenty apartments. We chose this one for its magical view of the State House and Bushnell Park at exactly the right height above the trees but not too distant. But we could not imagine how the dark, cramped one bedroom—with its Spanish colonial archways, unnecessary wall divisions, unpractical kitchen, and tiled and carpeted floors could ever suit our needs. Those needs were personal—a romantic space for a couple in the frankly liberating “empty nester” stage of marriage—as well as professional—a place to entertain not only friends but also potential supporters and donors for a major non-profit cultural institution. Flexibility was critical to the design mission. So was creating a comfortable and an alluring mix of visual enticements of furniture, artworks, and vistas that would surprise and make us—and those who joined us here—want to linger. Jared immediately saw what we could not see: how to open the space to fabulous views of the park and the city, how to provide places to both work and play, how to balance intimacy with entertainment within 800 square feet. The elegant dark wood flooring, the window seats covered with vintage fabrics and woodwork that disguised utilitarian radiators, the open floor plan with a kitchen that encourages my joy of cooking and makes entertaining for two or twenty easy, the stunning glazed cabinets that showcase cherished George Sakier Fosteria glassware and tableware that descended in the family, the syncopated black-and-white tilework in the backsplash, the way that rectangular rhythm carried over to the black-and-white semicircular shaped on the floor of the balcony; the surprising yet relaxing play of colors—for example, the watermelon colored wall that greets you when you enter repeats in decorative touches in antique, contemporary and vintage objects, furniture and textiles. And every piece of mostly but not exclusively mid-century furniture was selected to be both visually compelling and physically comfortable for two people of very different sizes. While the shapes and the colors echo throughout the small space, the mood in the bedroom is serene, the softest green-blue watery space. No distractions from electronics, monastic, yet tender. Throughout Jared brings nature inside through his choice of colors, light, plants, furniture and objects quintessentially modern yet never hard in their lines. Major designers from the 1920s through 1970s are represented, including lesser-known female innovators like furniture designer Bertha Schaefer—but so are folk art and outsider artists, unfamiliar or unknown makers and artists. A realist and a dreamer, Jared expresses his disciplined eye most uniquely through his attention to lighting—from Austrian mid-century bubble-glass to Noguchi lamps to sconces and candles that set every mood his clients’ might imagine.

We hired ASAP a few years ago to do a total gut renovation of our home. I was initially attracted to the sensitivity toward materiality and light in their work. Our top priority for the project was to really declutter the home to create a calm and serene environment, and also come up with a plan that was a good fit for our family. Our home also had some challenges to confront, such as low ceilings and an extensive number of windows that limited the flexibility of the space. Adam and his team really rose to the occasion, coming up with a layout that carefully balances private space for individuals with communal space for the whole family. While we had some initial concerns that some of the curves might be wasteful of space, after moving in, we found the space really exceeded our expectations. It is not only very functional but also as serene and enjoyable as we had hoped it would be. And the attention to detail, materials and light really brings everything together. While the project was not without its challenges, we would totally recommend ASAP to anyone who is really seeking to transform their life with an amazing space, and values great architecture and design! Also I have to say that I really appreciate Adam’s dedication to this project years later, helping with advice and minor repairs and maintenance.

Marcos has helped us to promote a house, which was to put on the market. He developed plans which made an old traditional house into a modern looking facade. His creativity is unique and helped to sell this home fast. Marcos is an excellent communicator, has wonderful ideas and I would always recommend him to my clients. As he also has a contractor license he is able to make plans which are buildable.

Julia, Working with Julia has been a great experience. The work on our house has been a collaborative creative journey. Julia's esthetics are impeccable. We have taken our time to live with each and every change to our environment. Julia has always been budget considerate, and knows where to place the resources where they count the most. I have never had a dispute with her company, and when a product or finish does not meet our standards, they are remeideed without question. Julia is a pleasure to work with. Linda Maldonado, my soul-mate, and I, consider Julia to be a dear friend.

CDG team are top notch- professional, responsive, thorough. Hired CDG for a medium-large project: my goal was to renovate my home into a modern farmhouse. They did an excellent job putting my ideas together and creating a beautiful design that fit within my budget. Will definitely be hiring them again in the near future for additional projects.

Great job. Juan Filipe is very talented and he is delightful to work with. $250,000 remodel of kitchen, den and 3 bathrooms, and new furniture for the entire house, including some custom designed pieces. Juan Filipe is very creative and he has great taste, which didn't always match mine, but he worked tirelessly to please me (a difficult and demanding client-- aren't we all!). I have very strong opinions and ideas. He was a great ediitor, politely nixing my bad ideas while always suggesting new and exciting ideas. We made a good team. He is very flexible and easy going, yet he can be very assertive when he has to be-- such as when managing contractors. Juan made what could have been a miserable experience enjoyable.
