“Last summer I had my front yard landscaped by Brown Design Group. The lawn had been a rock garden that was overgrown with weeds and bushes. I wanted a new look for the front of the house and I wanted something easy to maintain. I got a beautiful sloped lawn with beautiful green grass. It makes the entire property look nice and neat. I simply told the Brown Design Group what I wanted, went to work and come home to a completed job. Everything was done neatly and no mess left behind. I got exactly what I asked for and I love the new look.”

He had his own twist to our design which was efficient from the perspective of using the space that we had available, but was also done in a manner that wouldn't have a costly impact on our project budget. When on-site, Keith made sure to regularly update with me and consult on any questions that I had throughout. “Richard’s design and horticultural expertise has transformed our property. He has crafted a landscape that embraces and compliments our home, and merges nicely with the abundant old-growth trees that define the character of our neighborhood. His philosophy of creating natural landscapes, that once established are self-sustaining, appeals to our aesthetic preference and practical need. We hired him to design a master plan to be executed in phases over several years, and the results so far are beautiful. For a recent phase he added a soft berm, set with Belgium block, to mitigate storm water runoff from surrounding slopes. An old privet hedgerow that stretched across the back of the property was replaced with native conifers that screen a service road and provide a backdrop for a majestic native Black Gum tree and waves of colorful perennials. Long-blooming flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies. The result is an elegant, informal, four season environment. A future phase will include a bluestone patio and pergola, new walkways and additional plantings of ornamental shrubs and perennials. Richard has done an amazing job of coordinating all aspects of planning and project management. He is very hands on. All work has been completed on budget and on time. The results have been gratifying and well worth our investment. We highly recommend Richard as a designer, consultant and project manager!”
