“We conducted a gut renovation of a historic home - nearly every room in the 3000 square foot house needed some form of updating. Three bathrooms were completely renovated, the kitchen, new floors, plaster detail on the ceilings, walls were moved, a steel beam was installed for support, HVAC systems and plumbing updated as well as electrical...almost everything changed in the house! “Morse Constructions Inc., completed a number of projects on our Civil War era house this year, giving us the confidence that we can stay here forever, knowing the overall structure, systems and aesthetics are up to date and functionally sound. Starting in the basement, their renovations converted a cold cellar into invaluable storage space, clean, dry and light enough to hold an academician's many books. The first floor is airy, light filled and flexibly designed for many uses, including one floor living, if necessary. Owner Paul Morse, and all of his staff and subcontractors, were thoughtful, easy to work with and extremely professional in every phase of project planning and implementation. Watching the work process instilled confidence in us that difficult challenges were what made their day worthwhile. “After interviewing several contractors, we are so glad we hired Steve and his crew to completely rebuild and expand our 1950s kitchen in our 1920s fixer-upper. Steve was incredibly detail oriented, yet flexible and patient in working with and advising us as we designed most of the kitchen and small addition project ourselves. He did everything possible to be respectful of our budget, even as we ran into a few (to be expected in an older home) small surprises. His advice was invaluable, and responsiveness immediate. Moreover, he agreed to work with our plumber with whom we are friends and already felt very comfortable with working on our home.
