“We had no prior relationship with Oakwood, but were impressed with the quality of staff that we dealt with, from the first contact through to the finished renovation. We needed a variance to be allowed to obtain the proper permits and John Liptak, owner of Oakwood was instrumental in obtaining this on our behalf. Without his personal interest in our renovation, we would not have proceeded with the project. John also gave us the benefit of his years of experience with various suggestions for our room. Our design specialist was wonderful, offering many unique ideas for us to consider, always offering various solutions to meet our budget. We particularly love the windows and paneling in our great room. The quality of the work was top notch. The wood craftsman assigned to our project did an exceptional job on the ceiling beams and the paneling. Dave’s work makes this room so beautiful and unique. The project manager was very knowledgeable and worked on our behalf to make sure that all the little details were dealt with to our satisfaction. Trent was very responsive to our needs and concerns. “I have never worked with an interior designer before, but now I truly appreciate how a designer can help you create the home you want. One of the things I really appreciate about Irene is her ability to accommodate your personal style and habits into the any design recommendations. Given we have a 6 foot sarcophagus for a liquor cabinet in the dining room and a lego star wars death star as a primary feature in our basement it was essential that we found a designer who wasn't going to try and turn our house into a demo home, but would help us create a space that accommodated our day to day routines and reflected the ever evolving personalities and tastes of our family. Irene has been able to help us get more out of the space and items we already have. Her suggestions for reorganizing the furniture in our living room cost us nothing but time but finally gave us the conversation and lounging space we have been trying to create since we moved in 15 years ago. Our front entrance hallway which connects our living room to the rest of the house (and leads into the dining room with the sarcophagus) was never a space we thought about, by moving a few paintings, replacing a runner with two carpets Irene sourced for us, investing in a light for a painting and a couple of small bookcases, our entranceway is now something that really welcomes you to our home and provides a natural transition from the living room to the dining room despite to very different décor themes in each room. It really is a journey with Irene, as you gradually work on the spaces that you want to transform. Some changes you make quickly, others take longer. It may take a few months to build a house, but it takes a lifetime to create your home. Irene has provided great guidance and we are looking forward to continuing to work with Irene as we continue to create our home.”

“The project was the complete renovation of a 30 year old side-split bungalow, including removal of walls to create a modern open look in the kitchen and living areas, the addition of an attic beam to compensate for the wall removals, addition of modern hardwood flooring throughout, and ceramic tiling in entranceway, mudroom, and bathrooms, and complete renovation and update of the bathrooms. Igor's work ethic, knowledge, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and budgets were exemplary! She had a vision and knew how to bring it to life.
