About Us

Chimenti, a citizen of the USA and Italy began her sculpting career in Florence, Italy in 1996. Obtained a BFA in sculpture from Miami University in 1998 and an MFA in 2002 in sculpture from American University, Italy. After completing her MFA, she worked for the world renowned sculptor Beverly Pepper in Todi, Italy. In 2008 Chimenti completed a course from an Italian Plaster school, Safra, in Venice, Italy. Soon after this Italian class she was doing plaster molding restoration with Orlandini Studios in Milwaukee, WI. In 2009 she completed a Japanese plaster course and since then has studied with various faux finishing schools and artisans and done contract work for various WI builders, as well as contract work for other artistic wall and Italian plaster finishing companies in the USA. Chimenti has traveled to Florida, Ohio and New York City to complete Italian Plaster and decorative wall finishes for private home owners and commercial customers. She also painted and sculpted for Cost of Wisconsin, which is a themed construction company located in Jackson, WI where her works went to Museums, Zoos, Aquariums, Hotels and Casinos to name a few. Chimenti is also in her studio sculpting on personal, commissioned or charitable works while quoting/accepting projects for artistic walls & ceilings through Chimenti Studios. I believe that merely describing the 'what it is' of Carrre Chimenti's business would be doing her a major disservice. Far more than an ability to transcend any 'typical' or expected surface finishes, Chimenti Studios is..... incredible talent, amazing artistry, impeccable skill, and exceptional creativity. Add to that, a professional approach to everything and anything, no matter how crazy the request may be, and a vocabulary that seemingly does not include the word 'no' or 'you can't do that', and i know I have been blessed to have found the perfect collaborator. I am always extremely confident that working with Carrie on a project is like bringing my client a gift. It is a joy to work with her, and I look forward to having the opportunity to work on projects with her for years to come.

She communicated with me and followed up in an efficient manner. Her work is impeccable and I am still in awe of her artistic abilities. I contacted Carrie based on positive reviews I'd read on Yelp. She came to my house, and listened to my ideas about painting my oak kitchen cabinets. Being the artist that she is, instinctively knew the ideas I had, and what I was trying to accomplish. She also made some suggestions to fine tune my ideas and then demonstrated the thoughts with some sample boards she happened to be carrying with her. One of the suggestions actually took some of the work away from her, but she was honest and most concerned with the results and my satisfaction. After interviewing other people for the project, Carrie was the clear choice for my job. She communicated to me each step of the way, letting me know how things were going and giving me clear and specific timelines. The project took a few weeks overall, and was worth every minute. Carrie is such a professional, that an undiscernible color difference was pointed out to me, and corrected by her and at her own expense of time and material. Carrie is a great person to hire...she will enhance your vision and improve on your great ideas. Trust her judgement. She made my kitchen worthy of the finest magazine!

I was impressed with Chimenti Studio's work at the Breast Cancer Showhouse and hired Carrie to silver leaf the ceiling in my dining room. I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. She did it in a timely manner, she showed me sample boards before she started and cleaned up when she was through with the project. Her fine art background makes her work distinctive.

I recently encountered the daunting task of beginning a remodel in a home purchased in new local 2000 miles from where I've lived the last 40 years. Unfamiliar with contractors and tradesmen in the area, satisfactory help has mostly been hit-or-miss...HOWEVER...as luck would have it, a redo of the house's dining room required an artisan with knowledge in regards to the application/creation of Venetian plaster walls and perhaps gold leafing of a ceiling. After researching available candidates in my area I called Chmenti Studios and made arrangements to discuss the project, exchange ideas and get a quote. It has been a delightful experience! Carrie Chimenti is truly a skilled artist. She sports a resume which includes extended post graduate work in Italy where old world techniques not easily found in the U.S. were acquired as part of her interest and study. Her work for me has been well above my expectations regarding professionalism and competence. Add to the mix the fact that she has a wonderful personality, is articulate, prompt, accommodating (to say nothing of being as cute as a button) and very reasonable...my conclusion is anyone who deals with Chimenti Studios is in for a very pleasant, positive, enjoyable experience! I worked with Chimenti Studios on two projects: a hand-painted dresser and a custom frame for a stained glass window. The end results of both were beautiful and fit the project criteria to a tee. We hired Carrie to paint/plaster our walls of our Moroccan-themed bathroom. She did her research and taught us more about the Moroccan art and culture that we love. Based on her findings, Carrie then presented us with a variety of patterns/designs and media that we used to make a custom design together. Carrie choose colors and finishes that enhanced the natural stone and artwork we had already chosen for the room. The result was spectacular! Carrie is innovative, perceptive, courteous, prompt, neat, intelligent and creative beyond belief. She aims to please and is delightful to work with. Our only complaint was after she completed the project, we missed having her in our home. Don't hesitate to hire Chimenti Studios for your home or commercial project. J. Peterson
