“Jonathan and his apprentice did a fantastic job on our house! We were very impressed with his attention to every detail and his amazing work. He meticulously repaired imperfections before painting to result in perfectly straight and clean looking walls in our 3 bedrooms. He painted our kitchen cabinets from 31 year old wood to a gorgeous creme color that looks factory-new. He is honest and gives great advice for colors and design. He was accommodating to our schedule, reliable and very easy to work with. We would definitely call him again for any needs and highly recommend him. “I made a comment on the thread: 7 tips for picking colours (http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/72552324#1234993) that if you want to have a palette that both suits your needs/mood and will not date you are better off getting an artist with an interior design sensibility to pick your paint colours than hiring a designer. I expected a swathe of angry responses from designers (although I did state that my comment was not meant to be a blanket condemnation of designers, only that so many interiors on the web are clearly designed lazily along trend lines which will inevitably date quickly). Instead, Joyce Danko Design commented in agreement pointing out that there is so much more to colour than the basic colour wheel, that light, texture, proportion and, very importantly, paint quality all need to be taken into consideration. I have since encountered other comments from Joyce on other threads and, as an artist, I can say that her comments regarding paint and colour are insightful and thoroughly thought through. Joyce is a valuable and intelligent contributor to the Houzz community. If I needed someone to consult on colour design I would hire her in an instant. In fact, I'm pretty sure she'd do an amazing job at designing your entire interior if she was available to do it.”
