I've had John paint many rooms in my house over the past decade. Just recently (December 2023) he painted a bathroom, hallway and guest bedroom. The entire job came out perfectly! All the walls were prepped very well (he had to patch some holes in the walls that I had created when hanging pictures), the actual painting of the surfaces was great (no visible brush strokes, drips, etc...), and he was very neat for the entire two days he was onsite. He treated our house with care, as if it were his own. And lastly, he's just a nice guy! Easy to talk to, easy to do business with, friendly, and never talks down to anyone (I had this experience with other painters who thought they were better than me because they knew more about paint than I did). John is the only person whom I trust with painting my home's interior.

We really enjoyed working with John! We are new to the area and luckily found him through Houzz. The rooms and trim he painted look wonderful. He was easy to communicate with and offered suggestions when we asked. John is very professional, detail-oriented, flexible, and courteous. We worked with a few painters in our old house and John is by far our favorite painter. We will definitely hire him again!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about John and Emerson Interiors! From our first interaction when he came to my home to scope the project and provide me with an estimate, he showed true professionalism and knowledge of his craft. He is incredibly friendly, pleasant and obviously takes incredible pride in his company and every project he does. He's a great communicator, setting appropriate expectations and working with me on scheduling via phone/email/text - which was wonderful. He met all his promises, budget and timelines and more than exceeded our expectations on the quality of his work. In fact, when I asked if I could add another bathroom to the work halfway through the week and he was able to adjust and include that in his timeline, which was really amazing. He is meticulous about everything he does, including his clean up. It was very comfortable having him in my house over the course of 4 days and whenever he left for the day he left things in a clean and organized way. He was incredibly thorough selecting the appropriate paint and colors, especially when matching trim to the walls. He completed 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the time-frame he quoted and made sure to walk me through the rooms to make sure it was up to our expectations - and it was. We are beyond thrilled with his work and truly enjoyed working with John. The rooms all look absolutely flawless! We know that we have several projects to come over the next several years and have no doubt that we'll go back to him without question. I could not recommend John and Emerson Interiors any more!!! Emerson Interiors did a fantastic job removing outdated wallpaper, prepping and painting walls in our kitchen and living room. Very professional, left the house clean every day and was done on time and as quoted. John helped us with our final paint color decision, and we are so happy he did.

John Emerson did a masterful job painting the interior of our new home. Besides his careful attention to the technical details of the project (no runs, drips, or errors in thousands of square feet of painted surfaces), he was extremely helpful in the artistic nuances, helping with color choices and selecting which walls to paint in each to create a flow of color throughout the home. We would definitely hire him again and recommend John to all our friends!

We hired Emerson through Houzz because I was frustrated with the quality of a previous painting job(a referral). I called based on his work and reviews and he was very responsive and professional. Emerson painted our family room and laundry. Laundry had a mural painted on the walls and ceiling. Family room was wallpapered. I thought it going to to be an easy wallpaper removal and paint job but turned out to be quite challenging, the wallpaper was a beast to remove, there was a lot of wall repair and quite a bit of trim work, including interior wood divided light windows and a fireplace. I really wanted a crisp, smooth look because I was going all white dove and a high contrast fireplace and they delivered! It looks like new! Pricing was great and I paid exactly what he quoted. One of the best things about Emerson painting is that they were very pleasant to have around my family (4 year old twins) and John managed to charm my unruly dog into being his best friend. We will definitely be hiring him again after our renovations.

John painted our living room, foyer and very long hallway. He stripped the old wallpaper and did some wall and ceiling repairs as well. The project came out great, and he was easy to work with, came and went around our schedules and kept the place clean the whole time. We had kind of an odd schedule (most of the work was done in about a week before we moved in, the rest was completed about a month and a half later) and he was very upfront about his schedule and availability. He completed the project exactly when he said he would from the beginning.

We hired Emerson Interiors at the recommendation of our designer. She swore that he was meticulous, and she was right. He did wallpaper in two bathrooms, and painted one bedroom, the entire multi-level foyer, and touched up all of the baseboards in the house, including the stairs. Everything looks great! The wallpaper job is impeccable, and John even hung in there patiently with us when we received three damaged shipments of wallpaper before finally receiving one that was useable. John was honest, telling us when he thought we could get by with doing less than what we were proposing without compromising the end result. His estimate for both time and cost was very accurate- we had a large job that could have been filled with surprises, but it wasn't. Additionally, he was very respectful of our house, property, time, and was very sweet and patient with my kids who were often underfoot. He has been very responsive to any emails or questions we had along the way. I would absolutely recommend working with Emerson Interiors.

Emerson Interiors has recently painted and wallpapered every room on my first floor. I feel as though I now live in someone else's home. It is just gorgeous! John is such a delight to work with. He has great knowledge as to colors that will work well with others, look good where you are choosing them to be and will give you his professional opinion. I respect that. I will be honest and say that I have been using Emerson Interiors for probably 20 years now and I did sway once to another painter and learned my lesson. John Emerson of Emerson interiors has been painting and wallpapering in my home for nearly 3 years. Not only does he and his staff do wonderful work, but they are respectful of my home and family. John came to our home to paint our kitchen cabinets. The cabinets are thirty years old and had been stained a dark brown when the house was built. John meticulously sanded, primed, and painted our cabinets a beautiful bright white. The results far exceeded my expectations and the transformation was nothing short of amazing. I’m thrilled with the outcome! John’s perfectionism is very evident in the work that he does. The painting was impeccable and John even took the time to replace an old broken piece of molding above the cabinets and to correct cabinets that had become misaligned due to years of use. John did all this in a matter of days and with minimal disruption to our home. He was always professional and friendly and finished on time.
