SF Local Color painted my house in June 2017. They were not the low bid but I chose them because I believed they would do a high quality job and I was not disappointed. Bruce and his team are everything that you want and expect in professionalism, quality and customer service. His crew of 5 was on the job every day for 5 weeks without missing a day. Their prep work was thorough and their painting was neat and meticulous. If you want a cheap paint job look elsewhere, if you want quality and value then look no farther than SF Local Color. We were introduced to SF Local Color by our neighbor who used them and were impressed by their quality. We met with different painting companies but what impressed us the most during our first meeting with Bruce, the owner of SF Local Color was his extensive knowledge of Victorian home restorations. The previous paint job on our house did not highlight any of the fine architectural and artistic details of our house. (We live in a 3-story Queen Anne house that was built in 1900). Bruce immediately pointed them out and explained some of the different options that we could work with. Bruce and his team coordinated with a set of specialists (gilder and carpenter) to provide a finished product for us. Through their work, we discovered all of the beautiful and intricate designs on the exterior face of our house. SF Local Color highlighted those areas through the use of different painting techniques and gold leaf. Bruce and his team have extensive knowledge and experience in painting houses/buildings. They hold themselves to an extremely high standard of quality, are extremely detailed oriented, thorough and professional in their work. Moreover, Bruce has developed and maintained a solid team, who have been with him for 15+ years. If you are looking for not just a painting job, but a team that treats painting as a work of art, then SF Local Color is the company to go with. I highly recommend SF Local Color.

Local Color has made it possible to maintain a 1876 Victorian in excellent condition for over 20 years now. Their work is thorough, done with great skill and integrity. The finished job not only looks good, their work is very important in maintaining the soundness of the building. They don't just paint over dry-rot and sources of leaks, they fix them. Most recently they painted the 3-story facade for us.

The completed job is beautiful. Bruce was very good about helping us decide on the colors. The workers are careful and timely with their work and did a great job repairing the damaged walls of the house we recently purchased.

There are a few key reasons I chose Bruce and the Local Color team and I am very happy that I did. I wanted my old victorian to be restored, not just painted. Restoring is more expensive because it's significantly more work to strip off old paint and putty up cracks and old nail holes. Bruce was able to work within the budget and focused on restoring the most visible areas for maximum benefit. Bruce was fair and reasonable working through scope changes, as they always seem to do with me. With years and years of paint removed, I can see detail in the front facade that I never noticed before. The whole house looks amazing and I know it will last because the prep work has been done right. I like the small team who have been with Bruce for many many years. They are so attentive to detail and have a strong personal investment in the job they are doing. The small Local Color team different from a larger company that's more interested in getting in and out quickly while controlling costs. Rolando is an excellent site manager and they are all just really nice guys too. Bruce has a great reputation with and helped manage connections to various other proprietors required for the process including: carpentry, victorian restoration, colorist, and roofing.
