Kathryn has photographed several of my projects and her work is stunning, her eye is impeccable, she's incredibly collaborative, and she's super fun to work with!! I can't say enough good things. We have several projects on the books together and I can't wait to get to them all.

Kathryn is a true professional behind the camera and in her business concerns. We have hired her many times for photo shoots for our completed remodeling projects. The photos always get rave comments, and have also been selected for publishing. She really goes the extra mile. She is clever with photographic tricks, very knowledgeable about staging, lighting and perspective, and takes her time to think through the best shot. She even stood out in the pouring rain and shot through a window to get the best angle - seriously dedicated! I've not only learned a lot from her, I sincerely enjoy working with her - I've never had a bad experience personally or professionally in our dealings, and her assistant Augustina has been great to work with too - class acts all around.

I had the good fortune of working with Kathryn recently. She was referred to me by another Bay Area Interior Designer. I had seen her work and was immediately chomping at the bit to get her on one of my projects. She did not disappoint. Kathryn sees things with such clarity and insight - anticipating how I would want it to look, how it would look best across multiple media types, and she breathes light and beauty into each shot so the end result is the best you can possibly hope for creatively. Kathryn is a complete pleasure to work with, smart, articulate, service-oriented AND she takes fabulous photographs. I especially appreciate that she spends time before the shoot to understand my needs, the light, and the layout. Legwork ahead of time really saves time, and money, for the shoot itself. An all day shoot is draining but Kathryn keeps her professionalism, humor, and energy going for the duration. Her turn around was fast, too. I am exceptionally passionate about photographers and their work. Of course her photos have a great light quality to them, but what goes above is that Kathryn always arrives ultra prepared. When we need to hang the painting slightly lower to better sit in the frame, voila - she has a bungee band. Need a scissor to cut something off a new accessory? Voila, again she has my back. She also has a really talented retoucher that turns things over quickly.

As an interior designer I have been using Kathryn MacDonald Photography for several years to photograph my projects.
