“Calico Studio was like working with old friends (they provided full design and construction document services for a ground up custom home)! I had the real potential of being a "client-zilla" with an architectural degree of my own, a bit of an analytical nature, active in commercial RE & construction all of my career, and worst of all, no true idea of what I wanted besides the spaces and a rough floor plan sketch. Just coming out of nearly 30 yrs where my ex defined and chose our style, I only had a swirl of thoughts (a big Houzz ideabook), and a jumble of images in my head. “Working with Belladomus has been a great pleasure. Their design plans have hugely improved the livability and attractiveness of our home. We especially appreciate their use of natural light to enhance the spaces. We staged our major home improvements in three phases, beginning in 2006 with addition of a screened porch, new decks, breakfast/sun room, and family room renovation. “I had a logical idea of how to expand my building by 2,000 square feet. I hired SX3 Architecture to prepare the drawings, get them through the building permit process and supervise my contractors. During our initial meeting, Sean, the principal, had some very good suggestions of how to make the additional space look much more interesting, and use it to improve the appearance of the existing building - it is now dramatic and contemporary instead of predictable and plain! We also shifted the additional space relative to the original building to create distinct and more usable rooms inside the building.
