We found Jim Chandler Pools through Houzz after seeing his wonderful reviews and beautiful completed projects. My husband and I recently bought a remote home in the Sierra Nevada foothills and wanted a lap pool and attached spa built close to the home on a narrow strip on land overlooking the entire Sacramento Valley to the coastal range. Jim worked with us to make that vision come true through first a series of really helpful CAD renderings, to working with the county for permits, to lining up his loyal and very skilled subcontractors. The entire process was about as stress free as one could hope, and Jim kept track of every detail, keeping us fully informed the entire time. Our site being on a rocky ridge made the project particularly challenging, but the end result made it so worthwhile. Despite the excavation challenge, we were able to complete the project in a short enough period of time that the county building inspector was amazed compared with other pool projects in the area. We have been swimming and using the spa for almost 2 weeks now and it is everything we wanted. Watching the incredible winter sunsets from our pool and spa exceeds any resort experience we have ever had—and it’s all ours on own property! We are in the middle of a project with Adams Pools and it's incredibly stressful and unprofessional. They do not provide updates, we don't have a project plan. We have to ask (beg) for information and it's been three months with clear weather and we as so far from being done when they quoted us 3 months construction time only 6 months ago. If you sign a contract 6 months ago and they say they will be done 3 months from the start, wouldn't you believe them? We are three months in and we have to initiate all communication on status and next steps. I'm talking, "Hello, what is the status?" again and again with no updates. I am so sad and frustrated. They clearly don't prioritize the work they start. Based upon what they said we should have been complete by the end of May and here we are and the picture below is what we found this week.

We were looking to redo/improve our back yard and we chose to rebuild our water feature with California Aqua Pros after talking to Greg and checking out his brochure. The team came on the scheduled date and first carefully took apart my old water feature. They were very careful with my property and asked about what I wanted to throw or keep from my old water feature; they even asked which area of the yard they could use to store the items from my old water feature. They carefully moved my fish and plants to a separate temporary tank. They made sure not to ruin any part of my back or front yard; they covered the spaces they were using with tarp. I was nervous in the beginning owing to my past experiences with contractors; however, just watching the systemic, organized way in which the team, led by Brian worked; how they treated my property and my things; put all my doubts to rest. They are very professional and knowledgeable and courteous. They know what they are doing. The entire team worked well together and cleaned up carefully each day before they left. The entire project along with putting in the electricals for lights, was carried out in a very timely manner; my family is very impressed by how efficiently the team worked to finish every detail and feature perfectly and on time. I also had questions during the project and Brian patiently answered all my questions be it about the project design, where to place which color rock or just general knowledge about pond/plant/fish care. He took care of any issue I had; he always made sure I was happy each day with the progress of the project. If I had even a slight doubt about something, we discussed it and he made sure I was happy with the end result. Brian, along with his team, placed each boulder and rock carefully to create a beautifully designed water feature. Every part of the water feature was carefully designed and every detail of it was carefully taken care of. The team made sure to finish every item that was agreed upon in the contract. After the water feature was completed, I was given detailed instructions about how to care for the new components of our water feature. Our water feature was completed in December 2021. Since then, I have had questions regarding maintenance. Greg had been kind enough to answer my questions and give advice along with required links to more information. I have had quite a few bad experiences with pond contractors in the past. Many don’t follow up and charge to come back if something goes wrong. Greg and his team have returned to help me when I had questions. They are very professional and knowledgeable, and they do a great job!

Mike was easy to work with, did everything he said he would do and was either on time or communicated he was running a smidge late .

So far Dream Pools has been excellent. We are having a few issues with the permit but hoping to get our "dream" pool started this week. I will definitely write another review and pictures when our project is completed. I have interviewed many pool company's and the owner Frank Murphy has been the most professional and respectful with our time and communication. The project is now completed and we are so pleased. Dream Pools is a five star company and I would HIGHLY recommended Frank and his team with no reservation at all.

Jim has built 2 pools for us in the last 20 years and both projects turned out exactly how we dreamed they would be! He and his staff are very professional, do an excellent job communicating with younthroughoutnthe building process and strive to deliver exactly what you want! We are extremely pleased with our second pool and it turned out even nicer than we had expected! I would highly recommend Jim to build anyone's pool!

Don built our pool and spa a few years ago. We were so pleased withe the work and the outcome, and get many compliments about it. We have had lots of summer backyard parties and the pool has been the highlight of these get togethers. I highly recommend this company.

I'm so happy that I decided to work with Mike Logan. I interviewed 3 other popular pool companies in the area but not one of them provided the immediate attention that Mike did. Actually the other 3 didn't get back to me until days after i left messages. Mike actually answered his phone! Additionally, although the bids were fairly similar (10K differential), the three components of customer service, products and process to make the pool were VASTLY different. Make sure you find out how long the crew has been working for the company and what the turn over is for sub contracting companies - very important! Pool builders often use many different sub companies for each stage of the process - so know who your dealing with before you sign the contract. Logan pools only uses truly the best people and products. Working with Mike was like dealing with a intelligent and trustworthy friend. He was incredibly professional from the first phone call, to the very end where we were sitting by the rock fire pit together bragging about my gorgeous pool! Mike was there - literally every step of the way. He personally supervises each job - meaning... he's at the project a lot! Our pool took about 8 weeks, pretty much right on target based on Mike's projections. The crux of my review - I would have paid a little more (but I didn't need to) to work with someone trustworthy like Mike who made the project affordable AND stress free. His amazing customer service allowed me to be a pleasant bystander or be involved as much as I wanted. He always welcomed my questions and was very patient in educating me through the whole process. Bottom line, Mike really IS as nice as he seems the very first meeting! This isn't a cheeky ploy to get your business. He is super happy go lucky, feels very blessed to be doing what he's doing combined with attentiveness, timelines and five star customer service. If you're looking for an honest company, gorgeous pool & hardscape that compliments YOUR yard and personal taste - Mike is your guy!
