Westlake Development Group, LLC
Portland, OR New Home Construction Professionals
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsAugust 26, 2013
We have had the great pleasure of working on a number of homes with Gerald and the team at Westlake Development. They have set a high standard of excellence with maintaining communication between the designers and subcontractors and clients to make sure the project runs smoothly and on-schedule, but ultimately it's their dedication to satisfying the needs of the homeowner that sets Westlake apart. We were recently a part of the 'American Dream' home for the Northwest Natural Street of Dreams. Their involvement with the BBAC and the 'made in america' method of building has truly set them apart and we are excited for what the future holds as they go about bringing manufacturing back to the US.

Chris has unusual talent for developing great designs. Our remodel won the best remodel in class in a recent contest in the Portland area. Everyone loves our house. We started with a typical chopped up ranch style home with small rooms which he combinied into two large rooms with defined spaces that work for two or twenty people.
Roloff Construction, Inc

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 11, 2012
Our job was a complete remodel of our kitchen which included moving a wall and completely gutting the flooring in the kitchen, entry, laundry and second bathroom. We had a heated tile floor, custom designed cabinetry, recessed ceiling lights, appliances, windows and countertops installed. Nathalie Pillsbury listened to our "wants", made recommendations, met us for many product decisions, addressed our concerns and inevitable changes and was genuinely involved in our project. Mike Roloff hired excellent subcontractors, so that the finished product is outstanding. (Of particular note was the amazing "granite guy", Michael Ambrose, of De La Tierra Stoneworks). This company obtained the necessary permits and held to an agreed upon written timeline. All in all, a very satisfying, albeit disruptive as any remodeling/construction project is, experience. Kudos!

Giulietti Schouten Weber Architects

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsNovember 5, 2012
We're really enjoying working with the Giulietti/Schouten team designing our new beach home. When we were searching for an architect, we looked at portfolios from many firms and were struck by the breadth and creativity of their work. The combination of artistry, creativity, flexibility, practicality, and attention to detail they bring to their work is really impressive, and has resulted in a design much better than we envisioned. It's particularly impressive when the complicated site and extreme environment of our oceanfront setting are taken into account. We're very happy with the project and feel fortunate to have found this great group of people to work with! Follow-on now that the project is finished: Our home turned out beautifully. They were extremely helpful during the construction phase, helping us with the multitude of decisions and working with our builder to assure every detail was as it was envisioned. We were really lucky to have their team to work with! We give them our highest recommendation.

I've had the honor, and continual experience, of collaborating with Green Hammer Construction throughout the past 8 years, on various residential renovations. I've always had a very high opinion of the Green Hammer team, including admin staff, project managers, architects and especially Stephen Aiguier, the President. Green Hammer has been a pioneer in Green Building in Portland OR, approaching each project holistically, with attentiveness to design/construction budget and expertise in Passive Solar Design + Build. Clients of Green Hammer often become long-time friends and colleagues due to the high level of mutual respect cultivated throughout the project. I highly recommend working with the GH team! Rebuild LLC completed various upgrades in my home from updating fixtures and tile in three bathrooms and finishing off the family room to create a nice focal point, as well as painting and plumbing. Rebuild did an excellent job of keeping me informed and completed all of the remodeling projects on time and produced a high quality outcome. Todd provided great customer service and thank you! I would hire them again!

We have had the opportunity to work with Cascade on many projects of various scales and styles. Adam's and Dennis' attention to detail and positive attitudes make for a pleasurable construction process and a great finished product. Based on our past experiences, we would definitely recommend them for projects both large and small.
Mountainwood Homes

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 21, 2012
Mountainwood Homes performed magic on our 1986 galley kitchen. On Joel's first visit, he saw what the other contractors missed: what we thought was a bearing wall was only holding up the balcony. Reducing the size of this underused space allowed expansion of the kitchen below and removal of an unnecessary hallway. The dated drop ceiling and recessed light panel were replaced with a vaulted ceiling and hanging track lighting. Even though the original attic space above the range had access to the roof, the hood was not vented. The old electric range had a downdraft that never worked well and a small oven. The new kitchen sports an island gas cooktop, overhead vent with a chimney extending up through the vaulted ceiling, and a 30" wall convection oven. Heather provided great design with granite, backsplash, paint, and fixtures. Cabinetry by Cutting Edge was a perfect fit. We also extended the hardwood flooring into the dining room. The Mountainwood team was flexible as changes were needed, finished the project on time and produced great results.
Summit Ridge Design LLC

If you’re looking for a very personable and enjoyable design process for your next home, look no further. After moving from out of state, we had purchased a view lot in a newly developed gated community and driving through one weekend, we stopped and talked to a neighbor who was working in their yard about their beautiful home and they recommended that we call the designer and gave us the number to Summit Ridge. We had talked to two others designers beforehand but after meeting with all three, there was no question who we wanted to work with and we couldn't be happier. The design of our home not only fits our new northwest lifestyle but its entire design was created around us. Each room was carefully planned out and is a reflection of our lifestyle. Highly recommended.
