Rellion Homes

“Linh and the Crew over at Rellion Homes are top notch! As a distributor it is not an often pleasure to work with a company who understands and knows the product they're working with when it comes to windows and doors. we have been working with Rellion for about 5 years now and they are one of the few people who are at the top of their game when it comes to building and knowing what they want and how everything needs to be framed out and measured to get the project rolling. On top of their incredible knowledge base, they have the design and visionary skills to really make the home seem like a home and not just 4 walls and a roof. I would recommend working with them to any person who asked, a truly professional team.”

“We have used Revolution Landscape for 3 projects over the last 5 years (a steep hillside; removal of grass and installation of a pond and raised garden beds and shaded deck/arbor in back yard; and turf removal/water-wise redesign of front yard). We also use them for regular landscape maintenance. We never spent much time out in or had much interest in the landscaping of our small suburban yard until Revolution inspired us. We now thoroughly enjoy our many fruit trees, our fresh garden vegetables, and relaxing on our side deck listening to the little waterfall and enjoying a glass of wine. They are attentive, listen well to budget concerns, and give really educated advice on plant selection in addition to being realistic about schedules and project completion. The crew is professional, friendly, and responsive.”

“I am very happy with the job they've done (change floors, open a sliding door to the garden and build a deck). The house looks amazing. They are very professional and neat. Every detail was considered and accounted for. The job is nicely done. The project was finished on time and on budget. They are very accesible, friendly and were always available for questions and concerns. I am extremely happy and recommend the company a hundred percent!”

“If your looking for a local contractor, look no further! SPENCER of Woollard Construction comes highly recommended. We have used Spencer over the years for a loft to bedroom remodel, tandem garage to office remodel, a total kitchen remodel AND 2 bathroom remodels. Spencer is extremely professional. He is prompt at showing up and cleans up his work space each day. Spencer is responsive to phone calls and texts, He will talk you through any concerns or changes and most importantly keep you updated with progress. We have always been impressed with his workmanship and attention to detail whether it was a remodel OR new construction. He is our “go to guy”!”
Promised Path Landscaping Inc

“We hired Promised Path for a back yard makeover which included installing a new spa, building a custom fire pit, replacing and expanding the patio, and fresh landscaping. We were impressed with the work shown on their website http://www.promisedpath.com and liked the concept and price that Angel worked out with us. The process started with getting a plan for our Home Owners Association. We needed the plans very quickly in order to avoid a month delay as our HOA only meets monthly. Angel really came through for us, getting us professional plans within a couple of days. When the plans were approved, we decided to start the work the very next day. The Promised Path crew was there promptly that first day and every day thereafter. The crew was very respectful of our property and privacy, and worked very well together. Angel kept us informed of the crew's schedule and the project milestones. In our case, virtually every milestone was completed ahead of schedule and we ended up finishing two weeks early. It was amazing to come home from work each day and see how much progress had been made! We are extremely happy with our new back yard. The finished product not only meets the plans developed at the start, but also meets our vision of comfort and convenience. Angel was great to work with during the whole process. He patiently answered our seemingly endless questions, worked with us when we thought we needed to change something, and helped us see the pros and the cons of making those changes. He met us at the nursery to pick out our new plants and was very knowledgeable about all the plants, whether they would thrive in our location, how much maintenance they would need, how fast they would grow, etc. Angel has some solid craftsmen working for him. We had a good deal of cement and masonry work, and are thrilled with the results. We highly recommend Promised Path!”
Torrey Pines Landscape Co., Inc

“Torrey Pines Landscape did an exceptional job from start to finish with a redo of my back yard. The company employs skilled workers like Juan who could handle every aspect of the project including reworking an irrigation system, installing a fire pit, building a barbecue island with related work such as electrical and gas line in addition to plantings and considerable hardscape. I didn't have to worry about anything or hiring others. Total peace of mind. Doug and Dave always communicated with me about progress and any concerns. From the outset Doug understood what we wanted to achieve and thoughtfully reworked our original design. He continued to supervise and adjust the plan where needed. Dave also supervised the project effectively. Their crew was exceptional in its commitment to the job working every day day to complete the work. They handled some challenges which arose with the project calmly and skillfully. After completion Dave worked with me to ensure any loose ends were tied up to my satisfaction. We are thrilled with the final project. Visitors say it looks like something in Sunset Magazine!”
Paradise Designs Inc.

“Paradise Designs just completed my backyard remodel. I could not be happier! Our designer, Paul Daniels, listened carefully to our needs and came up with a plan that kept costs down and reused plants and pavers already on site. We had a tight budget but the finished result feels luxurious to me. I was very impressed at how easy Paul and his crew made the whole process. He was there often to oversee the project and his crew was polite and worked very quickly. They installed an automatic watering system, built a retaining wall and steps, created a combination paver/gravel patio and planted a wide variety of succulents and other low-water plants. It is beautiful and easy to take care of. We got a lot of bids but Paul's design was by far the best and I could tell in the interview process that he was a very knowledgeable professional. I am so thrilled with my new backyard. A friend who is a real estate agent asked how much we spent--when I told him, he said that we had just added twice that price to the value of our home. Better quality of life and increased home value? You just can't ask for more.”

“John transformed our front yard to a chunk of grass to a beautiful, serene garden. It's all low water and to top it off he planted flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. I've never spent any time in our front yard as it looks directly on to the street, however, now I read on the deck John built us and just take in the peace. I would absolutely recommend John. His design was excellent. I wasn't easy to work with-changing my mind and making him search for just the correct plants. His crew that did the hardscape and planting were all top notch as well. As with any large planting project, a few plants didn't make it (I think 5-10 out of the 80 or so that he planted). When I've called him he's been out within a week to replace the lost plants.”

“Like all major reno's, there's always a hiccup or two to delay or affect the job. Our new master Bathroom reno was no different. The key making it a successful overall renovation is to have a great General Contractor. Jon Hammer (Owner of SDMC) was our solution. Not only did Jon know his stuff……he had ideas. He wasn't pushing ideas on us to "upsell" us. He was helping us see our own vision. The best thing about Jon is that he's realistic. He knows that "BUDGET DETERMINES WHAT CAN BE DONE". When we gave him our number ($25k) and Jon started putting together a couple rough floor plans. He gave us a "grand" plan to consider building a master closet behind the bathroom to increase our master bedroom. Since we were working with a blank slate, now was the time to do it and we could really get BANG for our buck. The job would be more, of coarse, but we loved the idea and floor plan he came up for the space. He wasn't trying to push us beyond our needs or try to build us something we didn't want. He was just trying to stretch the project and budget as far as it would go. We decided that we wanted to go with Jon's idea for the renovation. But now we had to save for another year before we could sign and start the work. During this year, we called a couple other contractors to shop around. They were all very intimidated with the idea to expand into the garage. Other contractors just suggested to just rip out the old, and replace with the new. The one contractor that seemed semi-interested in the job quoted us at $75,000 just to start thinking about the job. Needless to say, that phone call didn't last long. After meeting with 5 contractors in the San Diego area, it became clear, there was only one person that we felt like we could talk to. Jon Hammer. We had Jon come out to the house 3 times to rehash and tweak the plan. He knew we were far from signing and contract with him but he came out anyway. Multiple times. Did I mention that Jon was Great? When we called him with our "final" budget number, he put together a detailed plan. He accounts for EVERYTHING!!!! Down to the 15 minutes it takes to sweep up at the end of the day. Now you would think this sounds knit-picky but its actually great. It means all the costs are accounted for. Which means NO CHANGE ORDERS. He guarantees that SDMC doesn't have change orders. And I put that practice to the test i assure you. When the contract was signed, he met us at our house with EVERY worker that would be in my house. They were all craftsman at their particular field. We felt very comfortable with them working in our house. We have dogs so it was important to know that not just anyone is coming in and out of the house. Just as Jon promised, when we signed the contract, the job was 60% done. Jon gets all his ducks in order before a hammer hits a nail. The job was going like clockwork. We were looking to finish around 4 weeks. He said the job would be 4-6 weeks so we were very happy. But we hit a small bump and needed to wait for more tile to finish the plan. I think the tiler may have used too much waste and ran out with only a couple tiles left to go. That threw the schedule through a bit of a loop but we recovered quickly and were back on track…… We went with a bold shower idea. It was a special concrete that looks great called Westcoat. Its very versatile and bold. Our craftsman for the shower was actually a stucco guy, named Hector. He was great. Doing a shower like this is more like mudding drywall then laying tile so it takes a deft touch to get right. The shower was the focal point of the renovation and Hector NAILED IT. It was better then we could have ever hoped for. The last step was the big pane of glass. Glass comes. Gets installed and boom….the jobs done. But then our second snafoo. A crack began to develop where the concrete meets the wood. I called Jon and he was out the next day. We needed to do a diamond mesh instead of whatever they put in. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it was to redo the whole thing. Which meant….scheduling the glass guys to come get the glass…..then redo the whole shower. Just about any other contractor would start ducking your calls at this point. They would also be writing up a HUGE change order for you if they do the job right. Otherwise they would just come and patch it with something that won't hold up in the end and now you would have a nightmare on your hands. NOT JON HAMMER!!!!! He delivered on his "no change order guarantee". He took it a step further. He told us to use the shower as a test shower for the final product. Since the shower is so big (just like we wanted) we found that another foot of glass was required to keep ALL the water from splashing outside of the shower. Luckily for us, there was a hairline fracture inside the glass that could only be seen once the product was installed and viewed in the artificial light. The glass company made it very difficult for us to return the damaged glass and pay the difference for a longer piece. Jon used his relationships and contacts to work with the glass company. The company was just following policy that protects themselves. When they saw the unfixable scratch in the glass they honored us with a new pane. We originally wanted etched glass but it took a little away from the focal piece (our shower inserts). Jon was able to talk them into getting us the bigger glass we needed and we made it clear. Can you say BLESSING IN DISGUISE. When I called Jon about the glass idea, I was a bit panicked. He calmly told me that everything is going to be alright and that I shouldn't worry about it. He would take care of everything. And he did. And everything was not just alright, it was better. We had our last hiccup with the shower redo. The decorative colored concrete we selected was applied on top of the original shower. This affected the end color which was too light for our tastes. So we had Hector come back to do it a third time. It came out a couple shades darker then we originally selected but it looked amazing. We wanted to keep the darker color. We also asked him to put a little more texture on the floor so we didn't need slip mats. Once again, blessing in disguise. Each redo of the shower cost a couple thousand dollars just for the product. Plus Jon wanted to support the existing shower more to account for the extra weight. I'm sure this is another thing most contractors would skip under the circumstances. Jon charged us $0.00 for all the extra work and materials. He isn't lying about "NO CHANGE ORDERS…….EVER!!!!! And thank god because we would have been SUNK. The job turned out great. Better then we could have ever imagined it. Good thing we had a true professionals imagination working in our corner to give us the bathroom of our dreams. Project turned out to be just under 34k. No surprise, right on budget. Jon's a guy you can trust. And when your spending thousands of dollars, why mess around just to attempt to save money. You could end up paying dearly for it in the end. "You get what you pay for in life". In Jon's case, we feel like we got more. Thanks San Diego Master Craftsmen.”
