Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsFebruary 12, 2013
We hired Kristen to redesign our entire yard/outdoor living area following a house remodel. She worked with us to understand our tastes and needs, and provided several design concepts which we then modified to reach our final plan. Kristen also recommended several landscaping construction companies to implement the design, and she oversaw the installation process. We are extremely happy with the final product!
Del Conte’s M & H Landscape Construction
San Francisco, CA Drought Tolerant Landscaping Professionals
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsDecember 17, 2014
Del Conte's Landscaping has installed several of my designs in Northern California’s East Bay area and I appreciate the partnership approach they take. Rather than racing through the work once they are awarded the bid, they keep me (the designer) apprised of the project’s process, requesting input whenever site or budget considerations dictate a change in direction. More importantly, the clients have been highly satisfied, both with the service and communication they received during the installation process, and with the look of their finished gardens.

We are so happy with our "refreshed" backyard from Westcoast Hardscape! The team was professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Mike/ operations manager was proactive & honest with communication, shared ideas to consider and walked through the process and options so we knew exactly what was planned. We can't wait to work with them again for future projects, we can not recommend them enough....overall an excellent experience and amazing work!!!

After attempting to design our front and backyard on our own....and never feeling satisfied with our ideas we decided it was time to hire a designer. Having known Kathy on a personal level for a few years she seemed like the perfect choice. I emailed her to ask about how she worked, cost, etc....and she got back to me promptly with detailed answers to my questions. We set up a time to do a walk through and we were impressed immediately by her eye for design, plant knowledge, thorough approach to the design/project, and creativity. We spent months brainstorming together in person, over email, through text, and even via Pinterest board. She created a wonderful landscaping plan complete with a visual plant list. The design included a paver driveway, rock walls, rock bench, DG patio, travertine patio, lawn, electric water feature, stone bird feeder, and beautiful drought resistant plants. We were pleased with her design and perfectionist attitude (woman of my own heart). When the design was complete we had a hard time finding a contractor in our price range that we felt comfortable with. Kathy went above and beyond to help us find the right person. We were so touched by her desire to make sure we had the right contractor to work on our yard for us that we hired her on to check on the project weekly. The project was completely in a timely manner (even with all the crazy rain), and turned out just perfect. To be honest it is even better than we imagined! We can't wait for all of our little plants to grow! She did an amazing job transforming our ivy jungle into a safe place for our toddler and dog to explore. We are already loving all of our time relaxing in our new space. She listened to all of our hopes and desires and truly created a special place.

Review by M. S. in San Francisco, CA Project: Landscape Yard or Gardens Our small backyard had been desiccated by drought and neglect. Richard and his Mediterrasian Landscapes team brought it back to life. Ours was not a large project, but we felt we were getting full professional attention throughout the process. At the start, Richard listened to our wishes, and not only honored them, but enhanced them with his knowledge, experience and good taste. Elliott and Stephen followed through, executing the design plan with smooth expertise. It was a true pleasure working with Mediterrasian Landscapes. I would recommend them highly to anyone looking for an excellent outcome, executed professionally without drama or stress.

Our landscaping after The Garden Route Company completed their work is magical. Rich is extremely knowledgeable about every variety of plant, tree and flower and selected plantings that complement well the contemporary quality of the home and our desire for a relatively easy maintenance garden. Equally important, the project was completed efficiently and on budget.

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsAugust 29, 2011
I just completed a remodel of my pool and landscaping with the Alder Group, and simply stated I could not be happier. From the first meeting until the project was completed, Don always looked for ways to improve the project and at the same time ways to minimize the cost of the project. His keen eye for design saw needed simple improvements that were relatively inexpensive but had a massive effect on the overall beauty of the project. Perhaps most importantly when the manufacturer delivered the wrong custom coping, and I worried that we would not be able to meet the deadline of a large party that was planned for my backyard; Don found a way to resolve the issue and keep the job on schedule. Don is truly one of the good guys.

Suzman Designs advised us on our garden. The garden was part of a midcentury house which was originally intended to be a Japanese house. Stephen Suzman kept the Japanese feel of the garden while integrating what we wanted in a garden. Both my husband and I were impressed by Stephen's breadth and depth of knowledge of all the fauna and flora. Stephen listened to our ideas; integrated most of our ideas in the garden (with a bit of refinement) and told us what would not work. This advice was invaluable. Stephen was also very practical and did no tear out everything and start from scratch; he tried to keep as much of the garden as possible (relocating rocks and stones, keeping most of the plants and relocating some of the plants). After the landscaping for the front of the house was done, we had compliments from the neighbors. One neighbor even wrote us a note thanking us for improving the landscaping. I don't think there is anyone out there more knowledgeable and creative the Suzman Designs - their work speaks understated elegance.

I’d like to commend Joel Tapia of Bloom and Lawn Landscaping and his crew for doing such a terrific landscaping job at our home. Joel is very nice to work with and is very professional. He takes the time to review your needs and offers suggestions. Our new sod lawn and plants make our home look beautiful and brand new. It’s like a model house! Joel took the time to go with us to select the plants to go along with the new lawn. His prices are reasonable and his workers great. We had 1,000 square feet of lawn plus a tree and plants added. The job was done in just two days. We decided to retain them for our biweekly maintenance too. Thank you, Bloom and Lawn, for a job well done! You guys are great! Steve & Liz.
