“The process of designing and building a home on the west coast while we lived on the east coast would have been a challenge. Tom made it easy and fun. He was available whenever we needed him throughout the design and build process. Best of all, Tom is now one of our good friends.”

“Dennis Thompson worked closely with us to design a new home on our land, after our house was destroyed by a wildfire. He was sensitive and cognizant of the emotional factors going into the design process, given our circumstances. Dennis took us through the entire process, from design concept through City approval, from choosing a contractor through managing on-site building issues. Ultimately, we ended up with a beautiful, energy efficient home.”

“AAA did a bathroom remodel (after a slab leak), repaired drywall, built/installed a new hallway linen closet,a fireplace makeover AND a full kitchen gut / remodel in my home. I am very pleased with the result! I found Mike Seay to be very reliable, trustworthy and honest. His cabinet maker (also a Mike) is an excellent craftsman and is also very reliable & flexible. Mike S., his crew and subcontractors really helped make a stressful situation (living in a house being remodeled) tolerable.”

“I am a mother of three youngs boys and my husband and I work full-time. We purchased our home in Westlake Village approximately 11 years ago. Neither of us had the time or talent to take on the remodel work our home needed. We hired Carol.. What a blessing. We told her we had a classic-cormfortable lifestyle and loved to entertain. We also told her when options were available to limit us to three as we had a difficult time making a decision. She is helping us with the following projects: * Guest Bathroom (cosmetic remodel) * Master Bathroom (reconstruction) * Living Room * Outdoor Living Area Not only did she help with every aspect of the design, drawings and selection of paint, tile, cabinets, hardware she coordinate with all the individual compaies involved in the projects above.”

“We initially hired Scott Quittner (Ho'okipa) to do a full master bath remodel. He was easy to work with, knowledgeable, friendly, and very precise in his work He had a great crew and made sure all work was top notch. He had lots of good suggestions along the way. After the bath remodel, we were so pleased we hired him again to do a major update to the exterior of our Santa Barbara home, including a lot of construction and paint. Again, all the work was top quality and done in a timely and professional manner. We would both give Scott and Ho'okipa a 5 star rating. Best contractor we have ever worked with.”

“We are a high end custom home general contractor specializing in new construction and remodeling of homes and estates in the Santa Barbara/Montecito/Hope Ranch area. Our experience with Mary Andrulaitis and the entire team at NMA Architects on our most recently completed project is quite representative of all of the projects that we have worked on together. We have found their firm to be very professional, extremely detailed oriented, very organized, and very responsive to our requests for information or decisions. Equally as important, the overall communication process that they establish for the project, from their issuance of SKs and SK Logs to Meeting Minute documentation to the resolution of all of the construction issues that arise throughout the course of the project is timely, to the point, with clear documentation and tracking on all of the issues. We use them and their processes as examples whenever we need to provide 'suggestions' to other architects as to how information should be provided for a project. And besides, as an added bonus they are all just great people to work with!”

“We remodeled an older, dated home with the help of Giffin&Crane Projects Division. Re-did kitchen, removed wallpaper, re-did floors, new finishes throughout. They were fantastic-start to finish. Professional, on time, good quality subs, kept us advised, were considerate of us and our neighbors, finished ahead of schedule, quality of work excellent. Remodeling is stressful but they made it less so and we highly recommend them for any project from big to small.”

“After tiny houses first got on my radar I discovered there were many tiny house shows. I began watching old episodes of Tiny House Nation and saw a segment on Vina Lustado and realized that she lived less than an hour away. I reached out to her and set up a tour of her house. It was the first tiny house I ever stepped foot in and I marveled at the beauty, simplicity and comfort of her tiny home. I knew I had to work with her so I asked her to do to my architectural design. I already had a good idea of what I wanted in terms of floorplan and even questioned if I needed help at this point. Much to my delight, Vina had so much to bring to the table, great insight and knowledge, she took into account so many things I hadn't considered. She was able to rearrange, consolidate and improve my original plan by leaps and bounds but never lost the personal touch that made the house "me". The minimalist simplicity Vina imbued in the architectural design gave me fresh inspiration and a clean and simple pallet for the interior design. Vina is humble, passionate and extremely talented, it was such a pleasure to work with her. I ultimately build the tiny house as part of a workshop and thus didn't use Vina's services for project management”
Hahka Kitchens

Average rating: 4 out of 5 starsJuly 21, 2013
“Ktichen renovation. First experience with remodeling. The Hahka team were professional and supportive. Designer Linda Billings was extremely accessible and helpful. Her suggestion to incorporate an island with the character of furniture is the statement piece that adds the "wow" factor to our kitchen. General contractor Randy Hahka very clearly has a personal interest in quality work. He strongly lobbied for the replacement of louvered pantry and laundry doors with doors that more closely matched the new cabinetry-although more costly, this was definitely the right decision from a design perspective. The construction team were skillful, friendly, honest and easy to work with. We did have a few whoopsies, but I understand this is par for the course with renovation projects and at the end, nothing was left unresolved. The team very clearly made great efforts to provide customer satisfaction. Job was not completed on time, mainly due to issues with pantry/laundry doors. Very happy with the results of our project.”

“Giffin & Crane remodeled the exterior and interior of my 1340 sq. ft., 60 year old Santa Barbara Cottage. Although I had heard of G & C, it became quite clear that their reputation for the highest quality work preceded them. This became evident from day one as I witnessed the positive interaction of G&C employees and sub- contractors. While there certainly were less expensive options I trusted G&C's professionalism and expertise. They had realistic deadlines which they met. They made revisions as necessary, with my approval. I was advised on every step of the way and was never surprised by any budget revisions, particularly since I was the one that approved them. For example, I was not satisfied with the Kitchen as originally planned. G&C gave me several options with specific budgets and time lines to chose from, incorporating things that I had requested. I always felt that my opinion was respected and that in the end the decisions were ultimately mine. Together we created a labor of love and a little jewel that I cannot wait to come home to. In the end, it was evident that I was as important to them as someone else with a project four times the size.”
