“I first contacted Doolittle Design to build me a custom desk. I wanted a desk with a clean modern design that would fit in my home office. Troy, the designer, met with me to discuss what I was looking for. I told him that I was open to the design and materials but the dimensions would have to fit a certain space in my office. He looked at my height and measured the room. We discussed the proper height based on the use of the desk. He also discussed with me the different types of reclaimed wood he either had in stock or could get if necessary. Troy came back with an illustrated design of the desk along with a sample of the reclaimed wood he chose for it. This is where it became interesting. See, Troy just doesn’t work with any type of wood he works with wood that has stories. The wood chosen for my desk was made out of reclaimed, old-growth redwood from lumber salvaged from the Lindsay Olive Company in the California’s Central Valley. The tanks that were used for soaking the olives were made of this wood. It was beautiful after Troy cleaned up and finished it. We made some adjustments and Troy went off to build the desk. I have had this desk now for several months and could not be any happier. Having a beautiful custom piece of furniture that is very pragmatic in my office not only adds to the aesthetics but also enhances my creativity and well-being. I just love all the character in the reclaimed wood. The water stains in this material are so dramatic. I just haven't seen that in other new furniture before. I would definitely recommend Doolittle Design for any of your custom furniture needs.”

“After my father passed away I faced the daunting task of rehabilitating the home I grew up in. I was very nervous, after all I had never done anything like this before and I wanted to get things right the first time. I faced a home that was like walking into a time capsule, complete with popcorn ceilings and wood paneling on the walls. Everything was mustard yellow, orange and green and blue, well you get the picture. After spending the better part of a year with other design/build firms, I had the pleasure of meeting Jania through my contractor. I fired the other designers for one simple fact. They did not listen to what I wanted. By the time I met Jania I was already in the process of gutting my home to the studs in the walls. It was the best decision I made. Jania immediately made a few quick decisions as to where to place the refrigerator in the kitchen. Small details like this make a world of difference. My architect had recommended it be placed closer to the dinning room which would have been a mistake. My home felt very narrow and confining before. She immediately saw what I needed before even I knew what I needed. She always kept resale value in mind and mass appeal just in case I ever decided to sell down the road. The color pallet she picked made my home feel bigger than it was, and enhanced the natural light. After all was said and done I was just ecstatic at the results. I would spend hours just looking at my kitchen. It was that good. I plan to use Jania again in the near future when I get around to remodeling my remaining two bathrooms and three bedrooms. And I almost forgot to mention the awesome team at J Style at Home. They worked endless hours with my contractor making sure everything fit perfectly. And she also helped me with the exterior. Picking Jania for your design needs and the crew at J Style is one decision you will not regret. They earned every penny.”

“I actually selected KDS from the Houzz website. Best decision ever! Kevin is very professional and was really able to bring our project to life, even better than I had envisioned it! He managed to squeeze in a good sized pantry, and here I thought I'd never get one! Kevin's website is very user friendly with a lot of before and after pics! He literally walked us through every step of the whole process helping and guiding us to make the right decisions and selections. Let me say this is a really tough and stressful process and ones always worries about making the wrong choice either in color, material or use of space. Kevin was always there to help guide us and the result is an area that we absolutely love and thoroughly enjoy!!! “We hired House2Home to remodel our family room, kitchen, entry and living room. It was a very big change to our 50+ year old house. We had used their services the year before to remodel a bathroom and were happy with that work. After discussing our desires for the remodel, Angela provided us with a number of possible designs and after discussions with her and Matt we finalized the plan. This was a very extensive job where we moved some walls, changed some windows and doors and completely remade the kitchen area. It was very beneficial to have both the designer and the contractor from the same company. We were able to decide on whether or not to include some of the design features based on the construction cost estimates and the desirability of the potential changes. Some items did not make the cut while others were added based on our budget. Matt then took the plans that Angela had drawn up and executed the realization of the design. He did an outstanding job with great care and attention to detail. He was also able to handle the changes required in renovating an older home. There are always modifications that must occur to take into account the variations in a 50 year old house. His work was well scheduled and finished without any undue delays. That was great because we had to rent an apartment while the construction took place. The bottom line was that the finished product exceeded our expectations.The look and feel of the house changed dramatically. It was like moving back into a new home. The details that Angela suggested and put into the plan made it elegant and highly functional. Our new kitchen is so pleasant to work in that we really enjoy cooking in it. We have received many compliments on our new home and are extremely happy with the result. As a matter of fact House2Home Design and Build has so far received 3 awards for the project and pictures of our home have appeared in at least one magazine! I would highly recommend House 2 Home Design and Build to anyone.”
