Luna Kitchen and Bath

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsApril 9, 2017
We cannot say enough good things about Terence Tung, designer and owner of Luna Kitchen and Bath. He designed our kitchen and office space and worked with us, along with his recommended contractor Phil Elderkin, of E&E Construction, through the successful completion of our project. Our project included completely gutting our kitchen, new Omega cabinets, quartz countertops, the addition of an island, tile backsplash, stainless appliances, new lighting, refinishing hardwood floors and adding hardwood in our dining room, and adding a beautiful office space and storage in our family room/eating area adjoining our kitchen. Terence is very knowledgeable, personable and has a great sense of humor! He is very ethical and honest, and cares about his clients and projects! He was very respectful of our time in scheduling appointments, and getting back to us in a timely manner with answers to questions. Terence is a good listener, and was always open to what we wanted, but we definitely relied on his expertise, ideas and opinions throughout our project! This was an expensive project and we wanted to get it right. We met Terence and the Seattle Home Show in 2015 and loved talking with him. We talked to some other designers/remodelers, but felt that Terence was definitely the one we wanted work with through this big project, and we were not disappointed. This is not to say we had no problems along the way. The Omega cabinets we purchased through Terence are very well made and we love them, but we did a custom color and had a lot of problems with replacement doors and trim matching. It did take a long time and a few different shipments to get the right pieces, but Terence advocated for us every step of the way with the cabinet maker and we have a beautifully completed kitchen and office space! Terence even surprised us with a rebate he negotiated with the cabinet company, and some out of his own pocket, right before Christmas! Now that’s customer service above and beyond! We absolutely LOVE our new kitchen and office space, and without reservation highly recommend Terence Tung!!

Kae has worked on a number of design projects for both my Bainbridge Island waterfront home and most recently my daughter’s first apartment on Capitol Hill in Seattle. The projects have ranged from custom paint color consultation for my home’s exterior and interior spaces to creating in a matter of weeks a nautical themed guest suite. She pulled together furnishings, floor coverings, bedding, accessories and decor to create a welcoming space for my family and friends. With my twenty something daughter she collaborated with her evolving sense of style to create a Capitol Hill living space that is both urban simple and cozy! Always conscientious of timeline and budget, Kae can execute your vision and develop design concepts quickly: Highly recommend and she’s fun!

If you’re wondering if you should higher J&C Construction as your contractor the answer is simple. YES! Stop hesitating, stop contemplating it, and higher them before they get booked up and your months out. I interviewed 4 separate contractors and companies before selecting John and his team, and I could not have made a better choice. From the minute I started working with John I knew I had made the right decision. He, and his team, exude customer service and perfection in their work that is beyond what you could ever imagine or hope for, especially for a contractor. I hired John and team to complete a bathroom remodel consisting of putting in a tile shower (using the Kerdi system), a new door frame and door, window, and lighting fixture above the shower, not only did they do everything to perfection they happily fixed a few other things without even a thought of tacking on change orders and charging me an arm and leg for it. They just fixed it, because they wanted to make it look right! John also helped quite a bit with the design and providing recommendations and options on the layout of our shower and the tile selections we had made. They worked hard, kept it clean, and finished when they said they would! I have some of the highest expectations of customer service and standards and find that about 5% of companies meet my expectations, John and his team far exceeded them. Because of this and the relationship that was built leading up to and during the work they performed, I without hesitation added additional work of building a fence on a retaining wall that I had needed to get done. To give an example of the customer service John provides, I called him easily no less than 50 times between our initial meet and the project start date (1 month), and he answered his phone every time, or I got a call back within 5-10 min. I made several changes over the course of that month, and never did a I hear a hint of frustration from him on giving me yet another updated bid, or coming up with creative ways to solve what I thought were huge problems. I could not recommend John and his company higher, and you can believe I will be calling them for any other work I need done. Sincerely Chris Miller 425-877-3573….

Cooking has always been a central focus in our home, and the harmony was diminished by our outdated and poorly designed kitchen. Thanks to Molly and A Kitchen That Works LLC, our family of cooks has been inspired again to create meals that bring family and friends together for unforgettable dining experiences. I might also add that Molly always goes above and beyond. We recently had a plumbing emergency due to our own oversight and could not make it back to the house to deal with the issue. Not only did Molly locate someone to handle the problem, but she met the service tech at our house and cleaned up the mess! NOW, THAT'S CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! You'll be doing yourselves a favor of the highest magnitude by inviting A Kitchen That Works into your home.

We own a modified split level home built in the 1960's which had a small, dark and unworkable kitchen. Our plan was to expand the kitchen into another room. However, there was a structural beam in the way, which we could not figure out how to work around. The house also had a mish-mash of trim, colors, lighting, etc. in the entry way, dining room and living room. Mostly 1980's country. We struggled with developing a central theme for the house. Nancy designed a new kitchen which brought in more light by installing two windows, back door with large sheet of glass and backsplash consisting of large glass tiles. She extended the countertop around the post and incorporated a bookcase underneath - this created the effect that the post was part of the design. The custom cabinets are not only a work of art but are very functional. She helped us select paint colors, hardware, lighting, etc. which are consistent with the mid-century look we sough. Nancy is very knowledgeable, has a wealth of ideas, and is very adept at listening and incorporating our needs into her design. We look forward to working with her as we renovate other areas of our home.

We discovered a "gold mine" when my husband and I stopped into CTM granite to look at granite and marble slabs. We were feeling overwhelmed and dreading a remodeling project - hiring subs and scheduling work all on our own. We were immediately greeted by Candy Rao the Interior Designer for CTM. She informed us that CTM was a "one stop shop" where they handled all of the sub work and scheduling for us. Bingo!! Just what we needed. On this first visit we also met Lorna and Mike Chirila, co-owners of CTM Granite. Mike, Lorna and Candy would become trusted friends and so easy to work with. Mike has a great experienced crew working for him. They were always very considerate of our home and our comfort during the entire demolition and rebuilding. Mike and Candy gave us suggestions when we asked for them, took our questions and phone calls without delay, and especially welcomed our desires and opinions. They listened to us, and were always available to us. From the plumbers, drywall and painters, wood floor and tile layers, electricians, granite countertops and sinks, everything was done in a professional and considerate manner and given the upmost attention to detail. Of course there were extra items we decided to do that we hadn't initially planned for, but Mike always came up with the perfect solution to everything we wanted to add on. There wasn't anything he couldn't figure out somehow, while still keeping our budget in mind. Extending walls to make room for hanging folding doors to cover washer and dryer (instead of the curtain I had been using), building in the refrigerator so we could keep the hall passage wide enough etc. The man is a genius! Extra bonus for us was the great relationship we developed with "Rambo" during our visits to the shop. We love that dog!! Thanks CTM for a wonderful experience in remodeling. We absolutely love the new look. We know who to turn to for our next project! It's been a pleasure to work with you and all of your wonderful people. Sincerely, George and Jan Solandros
