“After researching local landscape designers, we hired Studio 342 to develop a landscape design for our newly constructed home. We were incredibly happy with the results. As ambitious do-it-yourselfers with lots of energy and ideas, we had absolutely no idea of how to bring all those ideas together into a cohesive, contemporary design that would fit our lifestyle and dreams for the perfect outdoor space. After interviewing a few landscape designers, we met with and hired Studio 342 to develop a base plan, master design plan, planting plan and construction details that provided all of the information we needed to implement the project ourselves. The project was ambitious, including: re-grading plan for the front and side yard to allow for installation of grasspave2 to create a hidden driveway and parking area for our 28’ Airstream trailer; raised garden and picnic table area; an outdoor dining area; an outdoor gas fire pit area; an outdoor kitchen design for the existing patio; a full lighting plan; a new path system to tie it all together; integration of concrete and steel elements to meet our design aesthetic; and colorful and low maintenance plants. It’s now a year later and we’ve complete the majority of the project. We love our outdoor space and we could not be any happier with the overall design. Studio 342 did an amazing job of listening and creating a final design that was perfectly aligned with our goals and tastes. They were reliable on their budget and timeline. They produced clear, detailed designs that were easy to follow and implement. And, they provided outstanding support whenever we needed extra help along the way.”

“In Harmony Sustainable Landscapes created a beautiful and functional design for channeling roof water and water that ran down our driveway into a dry stream bed that winds through our front yard. This moderately-sized project required digging a channel through our yard and removing quite of bit of concrete in front of our carport in order for them to place channel drains. These drains connected to underground PVC sewer pipes (which they installed) that terminated at the rock-filled stream bed. Now, instead of having a flooded basement, all of the water from the driveway and roof flow into and beneath the stones in the stream bed. If there is a torrential downpour, the design allows any excess water to flow over the rocks, following the stream through the entire yard, and finally over the curb. This water eventually goes into a storm sewer at the end of our road. But, this has happen only once because the water has been absorbed by the soil in our yard. Mark Gile and one of his designers worked with us continually throughout the two-week project. One of his foremen, Poncho, was very skilled at operating all of the equipment needed for this project. He was also a wonderful problem-solver. Mark and his crew were very knowledgable, prompt, and finished the project within the deadline and at the cost agreed upon at the beginning. I would highly recommend In Harmony Sustainable Landscapes! A small glitch occurred because I kept using the term "rain garden" when I should have indicated I was visualizing a "dry stream bed." Understandably, Mark was suggesting good rain garden features while I was envisioning something a bit different. In the end, the design proved to be a very functional one, with a meandering stream bed that hosts many steam side grasses and plants whose roots, I'm sure, help cleanse the water diverted into it. People visiting our house overwhelmingly love our new stream bed and the foliage around and through it. Many wish that they had something similar in their front yard. I”

“We've had Malone's do two water features for us, 1st one was done in 2005 and was a large 3 tiered waterfall plus a huge makeover of the existing yard. After moving last year to another home we asked them to do a water feature for it too. This one was fairly complicated as it had to be seen from 3 sides as it was in a center island in front of the house. Our designer Jim Welnak was very patient as we worked through our design and even made some changes as it was being built. Our actual on site manager and builder of the water feature (Artimio) was awesome. This guy is extremely talented in taking a big pile of rocks and turning it into a fantastic, natural looking, gorgeous waterfall. He's got to be one of the best in the business in doing this kind of thing in our area. Overall we were extremely pleased with the outcome.”

“I hired Alan and Classic Nursery for a major yard renovation about three years ago. Alan's vision for my yard was something I had never even considered and it turned out to be pretty amazing. His crew was very professional, always cheerful and offered some additional ideas as we progressed over a three week period. I added to the scope of the project as I saw what a great job they were doing and they were able to complete that work as part of the project. I loved coming home from work and seeing the progress they had made during the day. And I also loved the organic flow of the process as we saw other opportunities emerging in the space. In March of this year, I had them do Phase 2. This project was much smaller and only took a few days. Again, Alan's vision was much better than mine and the latest project blends with the first one so beautifully that it looks like it was done at the same time (except for the plant sizes which will change rapidly). I highly recommend this company especially if you are looking for a creative approach, professionalism, and a reasonable price. I now have a yard that I absolutely love and I enjoy spending time outside (I didn't want to go out there before!!). The patio, walkways, water features, rocks, beautiful plants and tucked away spaces are exactly what I wanted. My friends like to come over just to sit outside, relax and enjoy the many birds who have also discovered the space. I don't know whether there will be a Phase 3 but if there is, I will hire Alan and Classic Nursery to do the project.”

“We had a major remodel done at our Seattle home. Some structural concerns on the house, created some significant changes to the front yard and Lisa was recommended to assist us with sorting them out. Budget: She listened intently to our wants, was respectful of a budget that had already been over-stretched in the house remodel, she created solutions that were not just aesthetically pleasing, but ones that have truly become the major features of the front yard (who knew there could be so many!). Of all the work we had done, Lisa is the only contractor that came in with a design that was so reflective our our wants and came in on budget. Hardscape: Surrounded by an attractive, multi-level fence that Lisa designed, she created a lovely front courtyard that has a great path to the front door, a beautiful pond & waterfall that erases the noise of a busier street, creates a lovely water sound through open windows all summer long and is a treat to the neighborhood birds who bath in it daily. I addition there is a path from the front gate in cobbles and another from the driveway comprised of granite boulders. Finally, there is a small circular patio from blue-stone where we have a mall bistro table and umbrella. Plants: Lisa listened to our goals -- annuals are not our friends, we wanted color, we wanted permanent plants and as half the house has a hankering for an English garden, we wanted that "tripped over" appeal of a melding of plants. Lisa also knew that we were gardeners, we wanted to plant and we wanted to play a little on our own. She designed a great plan that was easy for us to follow, pointed out what we should get in immediately (budget constraints) and what could follow later. She gave us multiples for effect and singles where appropriate. We have, hands down, the prettiest garden in our neighborhood. it has established well of the years, requires little maintenance and has even been featured in a nationally published Landscaping book. Without hesitation or reservation, I would recommend Lisa and Banyon Tree design. In fact, we were so thrilled with Lisa's practical but pleasing approach to budget, hardscape and plants, that we engaged Banyon Tree in the creation of our weekend 'cabin'. See my 2nd review for more details on that. Finally, we have recommended LIsa to other friends, who have also engaged heavily and been equally pleased with Lisa and the outcome.”

“I have a small backyard and high expectations for the space. I hired Alderwood Landscape because I knew first hand of their reputation as my previous neighbor had contracted with them and the results were amazing. The results for me were equally amazing. We needed to include a hot tub, water feature, a space for a fire pit and fencing not to mention removing an existing deck. The entire process took only two weeks thanks to the hard work of the entire crew from the architect to the foreman to the actual workers. Everyone was professional, courteous and exact in their workmanship. I couldn't be happier with the flawless results!”

“Through out our house remodeling, the work that Living Earth Landscapes was by far the most efficient and the best work done for us and our house. Bill was very easy to work with. He offered ideas on what we could do to enhance our yard that was within our budget. He even went out of his way to look at my irrigation system to see if it was working properly to ensure the work that he and his company did would be supported by it. He noticed some things wrong and offered ideas on to fix it and why it should be fixed. He knew we were looking to put our house on the market and he wanted us to get the best bang for our buck and within our budget and making sure our irrigation system was an important selling feature. The work they did was done on time and was beyond what I expected.”
