After a long time of research and interviewing several companies, I hired this company to do the work. The work started with several meetings with Mickey and we spoke on what to do and how to do including the styles, relocation of the refrigerator and the time scheduling. Mickey managed this whole thing and he had his crew working each day while reporting to him about their progress. The first week of work was demolition the old kitchen and prepare the space for the installation of the cabinets. During the whole work, we had no problem with them or with the communications between us to Mickey or his office. I’m happy with the new kitchen and with the work that they did.

We initially hired Case Design/Remodeling to refinish a full bathroom, convert our old kitchen into a mudroom and redo our front door and closet. The end result was fantastic. Our Project Designer, Michael O'Hearn and Project Manager, Kevin Morrissey, really made the process enjoyable. For the front door, they had to take out brick to add a door with sidelights and move a closet. They matched the brick perfectly and the floor were redone so well that you could never tell what were the old floors and what was new. Our new mudroom is amazing. We use it every day and they suggested great ideas to ensure maximum storage for our family of five. The old bathroom got a complete makeover and came out beautifully. They helped us select fixtures that would fit the space, tile that matched our style and colors that brought the whole room together. I was impressed with the focus on customer satisfaction, the constant communication and the end result. The changes really transformed our property. They worked around our crazy schedule with three young children and a couple of animals thrown into the mix. I particularly appreciated the attention they paid to ensuring that they followed all safety regulations (e.g. mitigating lead paint issues) while ensuring we still had access to the majority of our home. We used Case a second time when remodeling our powder room after our sink with corroded water valves started to fail. We took advantage of their Bath Design package that allows homeowners to select from three style and investment options to maximize value and style. Now, all our friends comment on the transformation of our home and we couldn't be more pleased.

Kristin did a great job on designing the kitchen. She was very helpful in suggesting ideas when I was trying to figure out how to work my cookbooks into the kitchen. in my old kitchen I stored my cookbooks across the top of my cabinets and it was very inconvenient. She suggested the open cupboards over my washer and dryer. This worked wonderfully. She never looked at my thoughts as "no you can't do that", but rather "what if we did this". She helped get me the maximum amount of storage that I needed while staying within our budget. She was able to work my washer and dryer into the design of the kitchen as well.

This project included total demo and reconstruction of 3 bathrooms. It included converting the master bath from a Roman tub to a walk-in shower with travertine to the top of all walls which had cathedral ceilings and a triangular window. and replacing toilets, vanities, sinks, and all fixtures. In the guest bath, the tub was replaced with a new tub and travertine on the walls. The sink, vanity and toilet were also replaced, adding an enclosure using 3/8 inch sliding doors. In the downstairs shower, old ceramic tile was removed and replaced with travertine. The toilet, vanity, and sink were also replaced. The floors in all bathrooms were removed and replaced with travertine. In late September 2012, after getting an estimate from another company for our planned remodel of 2 bathrooms, a large master bath and a smaller downstairs bath, we made an appointment with Horizon Construction and Remodeling for an estimate. We had previously read reviews here on Angie’s List. Mark arrived at the designated time, discussed with us our plans, then took measurements of the bathrooms. He also made suggestions regarding the project. He suggested that we meet with him at MSI to look at a variety of materials so he could more accurately provide an estimate. After deciding to have Horizon do the project, we made an appointment with Mark to go over the contract, scope of work, and the payment schedule. It was determined that work could begin on October 3 but since demolition could only begin midday, We decided that early morning the following day would be best. The demolition crew arrived as scheduled and the project was started. Demolition of the 2 bathrooms was completed in 2 days and work began on the remodel construction. Each segment of the project went smoothly. In the meantime, we went with Mark to select a marble slab for the countertops. We also met with the cabinet maker regarding the custom vanities and color of the stain. Work progressed smoothly and ahead of schedule. Along the way, we made several changes. Enna was very helpful in accomplishing those changes and doing the paperwork involved. She is an invaluable asset to the company. When the original project was well on its way to completion, we decided to go ahead and do the third bathroom since we had enough marble left from the slab to do the countertop. Also, the vanity in the upstairs guest bath was the same size as the downstairs bath which made the custom construction easier and more efficient. Mark was here on a regular basis to check on progress, answer questions, and listen to our concerns. In some cases, he had noticed things that needed correction before we even brought them up. Any remodel project, and especially one of this magnitude, is stressful. I know of several cases where projects lasted much longer than anticipated but that was not the case here. The projected completion date was January 10, 2013, however, work was completed December 15, 2012, which made our Holiday Season more enjoyable than it might have otherwise been! The master bath, which was converted from a Roman tub to a walk-in shower is amazing and the other two bathrooms are elegant as well. Horizon Construction and Remodeling is dependable and you can expect them to do what they agreed to do. The quality of their work is good and everyone we encountered was responsible for their part of the job. My only admonition to you is that you make sure the scope of work that you sign off on includes all the things you discussed and thought would be there. If you have a project in mind, call Horizon Remodeling and Construction and give them an opportunity to discuss it with you before you make a final decision. We are pleased with how our bathrooms came out and would not hesitate to call Horizon for another project

***Edited to Add: Pearl remodeled our garage about a year ago. They did a really great job and we were extremely happy with both the process and the result. A couple of months ago, we started to notice the epoxy floors were bubbling and peeling in some areas. I called Gal and he came out right away to assess the situation. He took one look and immediately offered to redo the ENTIRE floor - NOT a patch job - for free since it was clearly something that should not be happening after just one year of minimal foot traffic. A few weeks later, a different crew came out, determined what was wrong with the original epoxy and installed a brand new floor. It looks great and once again Gal delivered exactly what he promised in a timely and efficient manner. We are so impressed with Pearl for standing by their work, and dedicating their time and resources to fixing a problem that a lot of contractors may have just brushed off. It was the right thing to do and they didn’t hesitate. I was recommending them to friends already, but I will do so with even more confidence now. Original Review: Pearl Remodeling turned a dark, uninspiring garage into a light-filled, finished space that will be used as an art studio. It was completed on time and looks beautiful! From the very first phone call with Ron to handing over the last check, I found them to be reasonable, amiable, and fair. After Ron answered some early questions on the phone, he sent a project manager, Gal, over that very weekend. When we decided to move forward, Gal remained our Project Manager, from start to finish. He proved to be organized and thorough. When we hit a snafu, Gal really worked with us, and went above and beyond to make it right. We were really impressed. Additionally, he added a really lovely detail that elevated the whole look of the garage. It’s even nicer than we thought it would be! I’m sure there were plenty of moments when we drove Gal nuts, but he was good-natured about it, and always got back to us quickly. He showed up when he said he would, and always called or sent a text to notify me if he needed to change his schedule. We also met with Jacob a few times, once at the beginning of the project and a few times throughout. He seems to really knows his stuff and definitely inspires confidence. I think he is genuinely committed to constantly improving his business and has a very direct manner that we appreciated. We were very impressed with Pearl's quality of the work, efficiency and overall approach to customer service. Highly recommend!

Can recommend Sea Pointe w/reservation. The end result was just what I wanted...getting there was somewhat of a financial surprise. Originally, I asked that the master bath remodel be consistent w/other (3) bathrooms (Siematic cabinets, imported Spanish tile). Two walls were taken down to studs and shower stall removed. I had assumed new shower doors were included since shower was torn out and this was a did not (+$ for glass doors). (What average home owner would know that shower doors are considered "fixtures" & "fixtures" were not included in Sea Pointe's estimate.) I had assumed that my baseboards would be tile (consistent w/my other bathrooms, as originally requested). Specific baseboard material not identified in estimate (+$ for baseboard tile). Bottom line...stand in front of your wall and identify each and every detail and make sure it is specified in Sea Pointe's est.

We moved from the city to the suburbs and we knew going in that we wanted to redo the kitchen and open up the living space, as soon as spring came around. Initially, we interviewed a couple architects, but all they wanted to do was to mold the house into their vision and not ours. Then we found Bob and he immediately knew what we wanted to do with the space and more importantly knew our design aesthetic. He came up with a great kitchen design, open floor plan and created the perfect space for us. Given our budget, we had resigned ourselves to semi-custom cabinetry, but Bob came through again. He was able to get us a fully custom kitchen with virtually no change in the budget. We gave Bob yet another challenge, a time challenge. We were expecting our second child and we needed all major construction to be done by time the new baby arrived. Bob came through with flying colors. All major construction was done ahead of schedule. We couldn't have been happier. Not only was the work done in time, the quality of the work was top notch and the construction crew are professional and courteous. There are several general contractors we could have gone with, but Bob is special. He is a great combination of an architect, kitchen designer and general contractor. He has a great breadth of knowledge when it comes to home construction and we couldn't have chosen better. We would definitely use him for any future home improvement projects and would highly recommend him to others. Project photos:
