“We first got an estimate from the chain window store here in town. We were looking at replacing all windows and doors. The guy that arrived was a salesman and when he left we weren't real clear on what we were going to do and whether it was necessary to replace. He gave us a bare bones total and come to find out later, there were a few extras that would cause our estimate to go up. Someone recommended benthall bros. to us, so we called them for an estimate. Eli Benthall explained things to us and gave us an estimate that included everything...there would be no surprises later. We got a slightly better value through them; however, we hired them because we were more comfortable with them from the start. We had a better understanding of what we were getting and what it would cost. We weren't dealing with a salesman. Also, we take comfort in knowing that Benthall Bros is family and locally operated. And has been around for decades. The crew that came out for the install took longer than we were told. They were older guys and took many smoke breaks. There was usually one guy sitting at a time and they one day took a two hour lunch break. I was just ready for the work to be done, but they were here a day or two longer than we were told. They left the screw plugs taped to one of the doors and i didn't even know what they were at first. One of the guys installed our blinds wrong and tried to fix them twice, but they were still messed up. Finally, my husband had to get out a ladder and drill, and it took him two seconds to see that the mechanism was rubbing against the screws. It was an easy fix, but a little irritating. He had to go through the house and fix About a dozen blinds. The younger guys who installed our front door later (one was the service manager JT) were great. Very efficient and professional. Our windows and doors look great! Very happy. We plan to have them install our garage door later!”
