John McCarter Construction follows through with their commitment to warranty work. After a harsh Michigan winter, service was needed for painting. John's painting was excellent and thorough with attention to detail. Great work from John! A shout out to Niki, the Service Manager, for scheduling the work on a timely basis.

Can't say enough good things about this company or its employees and owner. We used McCarter to reside our house with James Hardie cement board. We also had them include our front enclosed porch to match. Some of the happiest crews I've ever met. They had the system of install perfected and sang songs as they worked! Questions or concerns were answered promptly and with definite concern. It's truly rare to find a company so honed in on quality service and attention to detail. Thoroughly recommend them. Immensely frustrating experience overall. Work was done with quality and everyone was very professional and courteous, however the friendly, transparent sales experience disappeared after signing our contract with them. What was anticipated to be a $400-500 repair job completed in 3 weeks experienced 3 months of delays and final cost was more than double the estimate given. If you're going to consider them, be sure to get a firm fixed price contract with them and ask for a guarantee to get your deposit back if they can't complete on time.

We had exterior siding and trim replaced/repaired/painted. Quality of work is outstanding - the teams that completed the work were very professional (on time, polite, cleaned up, etc). Working with the sales and project management team was great as well. We always received prompt responses to any questions/concerns we had. Will hire again if needed. Highly recommend.

John McCarter Construction removed all our old siding, trim, soffits and gutters and replaced them with James Hardie siding and trim. The work from start to finish was fantastic. The crew worked so hard everyday and completed the whole job from start to finish in about 3 weeks. The gutter guys were incredible - fast and efficient and super neat. I would highly recommend this company and would do business with them again any day.

The house that I own has been built 37 years ago. The front of the house had James Hardie fiber-cement stucco siding. During the years panels of the front gable developed mold and needed to be replaced. After searching on the Home Adviser website for contractors to do the repairs I received calls from four companies. They came, made assessments and presented me with their quotes. The company whose bid I've chosen was the McCarter Construction. Their representative gave me a very thorough explanation of the project and their price was the best. I never regretted my choice. They were very open upfront explaining that because of the backlog they had accumulated due to the shutdown it would take some time before they can start working on the project and that I will be kept informed when they were going to start the project. When they started working on the project it was completed by a very efficient crew in no time with very high quality. Finally the painter did a great

John McCarter Construction did a fabulous job re-siding our house with hardi board. His crew worked hard, did a great job, were professional and courteous. John and Bruce Ellis made sure to answer all our questions; they were approachable and responsive. Hardi board is more expensive, but it's long-lasting and looks great, so well worth the money in our opinion. We liked dealing with them so much that we contacted them a year later about redoing our old roof.

We are all in all very happy with the work done by John McCarter Construction. They have a very good masonry specialist, Eric who is very highly recommended. The price was reasonable; we were not going for the cheapest job, but a good quality install with professional staff. The initial communication, site visit, quote, etc went flawlessly, but after we signed the contract, there was a noticeable drop in communication which was frustrating. I had to send numerous messages to ensure the work would start as planned, or how long delays would be. There were delays and the work took a good 6 weeks over expectations; seems they only have one main masonry specialist and the workload wasn't queued up efficiently. The staff was always very courteous, and on site, they worked very well. We would use them again and do recommend them, but it was almost painful to have them do the 98% of the job so well to only fail at some of the communication frequency and punch list items that kept it from being a really great experience.

A really great experience for us. We were looking for someone to install Hardie Plank siding to replace some weathered siding on the front of our home. John came to our home, listened to what we wanted, and made a few suggestions. We ended up deciding to replace our gutters and a chimney cap. VERY happy we did so! John gave us a very detailed quote, complete with pictures of the various work elements, and options at different pricing levels. He explained all the options in a factual manner, and allowed us to make our decision with no sales pressure whatsoever. Two crews worked on our project, one for the siding, and one for the gutters & chimney cap. Gillis managed the whole project for us. The team was very professional and friendly, and addressed a few concerns we had quickly and exactly as we asked. The job site was kept orderly at the end of every day, which really helped with our neighbors. Extremely pleased with all of the work - especially the gutters, which was not on our radar when we first called. The house looks so much better for it! Very happy that we chose John to do this work. We will not hesitate to use them again, and recommend them to anyone.
