Sunlife Solar and Roofing
Solar Energy Contractors in Newport Beach, CA
"I wanted solar for a long time and I'm happy that I made the decision with such a reputable company. I just had a new roof and solar system installed and all the installers were very nice, punctual, and cleaned up after themselves. They did a great job and I love the way my new roof and solar system looks. In fact my neighbors have already given me compliments. I was worried in the beginning of this process that something would go wrong, but now that my project has been completed I'm relieved that everything worked out the way I was told it would. The entire project was done professionally and Sunlife Solar did everything they said they would do. I have already recommended them to family, friends, and neighbors. This is a company that can be TRUSTED."

EcoForce Solutions
Solar Energy Contractors in Newport Beach, CA
"Ecoforce has helped us to dramatically reduce our energy use. We had 12-year-old AC units that just were not cooling our home effectively on hot days. Ecoforce tested our system and found that not only were the units performing poorly but they were oversized for our home and pretty inefficient. They were able to install a smaller and more cost-effective system. They also installed Nest thermostats to help optimize the comfort and efficiency of our home. They also replaced our pool pump with a variable speed pump that uses 85% less energy than the old one. (We had already changed over to almost 100% LED lights throughout our home.) Now that we’ve cut our energy use significantly, we’re working with Ecoforce to eliminate our energy bills entirely by installing solar."

LA Solar Group
Solar Energy Contractors in Newport Beach, CA
"I was tired of getting $200 electric bills in the summer in Los Angeles due to my air conditioning. So, I decided to go solar. I checked out a few companies but they either had mixed reviews or kept calling with sales pressure. I found LA Solar on the Internet. It had many good reviews over a long period of time. This sounded legitimate. They came out and gave me an estimate of about $18,000. I decided to go forward. It was supposed to be finished in 1.5 months but it too closer to 3 months. The price went up a few thousand dollars because I have a metal roof and and part of the roof had to be re-roofed to accommodate the solar panels. But LA Solar cut the revised estimate by $500 by cutting their profit. So, I paid more than the original estimate but they reduced their profit. This was OK since we couldn't put solar panels on a metal roof. The work was finally finished in December 2015. It took so long due to many city inspections. But at least on one occasion, the company didn't show up when the inspector came. This caused a delay. It was supposed to go live around Christmas time but it didn't work. The problem was eventually found to be a defective part. After that was replaced a few days later, the system went live and everything has worked since then. I use an average of 23 kWH per day in my house (I have electric and plug-in hybrid cars). On a sunny day in the spring, I generate 33 kWH from the solar panels. My last few electric bills have been $10 per month (transmission charges). Plus, I will get credit for the excess power that I generate. I am in the black by a cumulative 600 kWH over the last few months! I can't wait to see how much I generate this summer. I feel like the electric company. I am grandfathered in for net metering for the next 20 years. I think you have to contract for solar panels no later than Dec. 2017 to be grandfathered for 20 years in California. I calculated the internal rate of return on my solar panel investment using my cost of about $22,000 and estimated savings for the next 20 years. It is 13% per year! I can't get that in the stock market. Plus, I will always use electricity, so it is a safe investment, assuming my panels work efficiently for the next 20 years. I claimed a 30% federal tax credit on my income tax. Too bad Southern California Edison ran out of rebate money. I highly recommend LA Solar. Except for a few minor glitches, they did a good job, never gave me sales pressure, and were very nice to me on the phone."

SolarMax Technology Inc.
Solar Energy Contractors in Newport Beach, CA
"I was approached by many different solar companies telling me the same thing "they could save me 15% to 30% on my electric bill if I went with their company." I didn't think that it was worth it due to I would have 2 bills a Solar bill and a electric bill. I thought the purpose of solar was to save money!!! Then soon after I was approached by a guy named Bo from SolarMax Technology his presentation was different from all the others, he presented me with an option of replacing my electric company with Solar and reduce my overall cost by 30% over my electric company. Mom always told me if it's too good to be true then it's not true. But after listening to the representative "Bo" and seeing the savings on paper, everything started making sense. I agreed to get the Solar Panels installed and now after running for 30 days on solar, I've generated more electric then I've needed in those 30 days and according to the electric company I have a credit balance and on top of that the solar bill is about $100 cheaper than my last electric bill. Going with SolarMax Technology for my electric needs I believe was one of the best investments I could have ever made.Thank you SolarMax Technology"

Run on Sun
Solar Energy Contractors in Newport Beach, CA
"I have a 4 kW array on my roof for 10 years now and by now I have dealt with about half a dozen solar companies. I am giving Run on Sun the highest rating because of its owner who was personally involved in the repair project and discussed with me in detail what has to be done and gave my correct cost estimates for all options. At the end he donated my used equipment to a charity which gave me a nice tax break. A great guy, honest, professional and dependable."

PacificSky Solar
Solar Energy Contractors in Newport Beach, CA
"Excellent and Easy Process. From the start to the finish product, the process was super easy. We are so happy we decided to go solar with Pacific Sky! We interviewed other companies, but they were the most upfront and most reasonably priced. They were responsive when we had questions and when everything was installed, they sent out Robert to explain and make sure all our questions were answered."

What types of residential solar power systems do solar energy contractors design and install?

Solar power systems are part of the growing energy efficiency trend. You may be wondering, what is solar energy, exactly? Solar energy is energy that comes from the sun, and is then converted into electricity and/or utilized for heating air or water.

The most common types of alternative energy systems for the home are solar electric, solar water heating and wind power systems. Solar professionals can help with everything from installing solar skylights to implementing complete solar energy systems.

Let’s say you want a solar electric system for your home. An off-grid system basically consists of solar panels and battery banks. These battery banks store the sun’s energy so you can use electricity at night or on a cloudy day. This system is designed to keep household electricity running for about two or three cloudy days; longer cloudy periods require a backup generator. To install an off-grid system, you’ll want to hire a certified California solar energy contractor. You can find more solar energy contractors in Long Beach, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach and Garden Grove.

Along with off-grid solar, wind and hybrid energy systems that include batteries and backup generators, there are also grid-tied solar and wind operations. Grid-tied systems are attached to your Newport Beach, CA utility company so if you produce more energy than you use, your meter goes down and you build up energy credits.

Installing solar skylights can save electricity. Sun tunnel skylights are tubular daylight devices that capture sunlight through domes on your roof. Attached to these domes are highly reflective tunnels that draw natural light down into closets, hallways and stairways.
