Advanced Home Awareness Home Inspections

I am going to speak plainly, If you are not a contractor you will need a home inspector. I was shock to receive a 20 + page report of the home I was interested in purchasing. Everything that was mentioned in the report was thoroughly discussed the report. My inspectors name was Dave Tontorski. I have pictures and documentation of all the vital systems in my home and if anything is recalled, I am made aware of it. All of the results are in a binder and there is photographs to document everything. The inspection took about 5 hours. When anything came up during the inspection, Dave taught us what the item should be installed or built etc. As a contractor, Dave knew what was acceptable and what should be done to better the minimum code. My advise is to hire Dave or his partner. We were informed that our home had a small amount of Radon. The only thing I should have done was have the well and the water tested. It would have relieved all the problems we would have faced in the future. We did add extra items to the basic inspection. It was important for us to reveal as much about this home as we could as our Realtor was friends with the seller. We would get the shaft Good Luck! or better be prepared!
