“I own a large wood frame, 2-story home in the Historic District of Charleston, SC. All work done in the historic district must meet the high standards of our Board of Architectural Review and the city inspectors. Consequently, I am very picky about who I hire to work here. I have been burned over the years with shoddy workmanship, contractors who take kickbacks from sub-contractors, and people who quote prices on quality materials but then show up with sub-standard materials they try to slip in to save a buck. You name it, I have seen it in the 40 years I have lived here and remodeled 3 historic homes and 3 newer homes in a subdivision outside of the Historic District. I think Steve Geiger and his company, Marquis Construction, are first class. Each time he has worked on my home I have been very satisfied with the quality of the work, the competence of his staff, the materials he quoted on and used, the attention to detail, the way they protected the site, the timeliness of the completion, the clean-up, and the total end result, on budget. Steve does what he says he will do. I don't know what else you could ask for. I am looking for Steve now to return and do some more work since we have been recently hit with this storm of the century, as shown on national news. I know from other owners of historic homes that he is in great demand, and we are a hard group to please! If you're looking, he is your solution.”
