Tile in the William Morris and De Morgan Tradition Victorian, Arts & Crafts,, Medieval, and Pre-Raphaelite Tile I make William Morris and William De Morgan reproduction decorative tiles and an increasingly wider circle around that: Morris-ish interests, the Victorian age, Early and later Arts and Crafts, Morris & Co., Pre-Raphaelite ceramics, the Rossetti Pre-Raphaelites. Media weren't narrow channels for William Morris and his friends. Some Morris & Co. tiles began as designs for stained glass, and textiles. And back again as textile designs came from tile, paintings, such as Burne-Jones's Morgan Le Fay, came from designs for embroidery and textiles. I've taken this a step farther, just as Morris did for some of his designs. You'll find tiles based on book designs, tiles from textiles and stained glass. You can, if you like, order tile just as it is shown. If you want to change things slightly, or want bespoke tiles, well probably half the people who visit here also want that. Finding the right set for each person is the best part of making tile. The places where we live and work should reflect your best self and the spirit of those who live there, serving the needs of personality and lifestyle. It must create a unique sense of place that inspires and sparks the imagination yet is grounded in its surroundings and daily life. We like the John Ruskin and William Morris values, changing the world one tile at a time as it passes through our hands. This is not mass-produced reproduction tile. We want to know what your vision is for your project and we do our best to help you reach that. If you have questions or are ready to scope your project, contact me and we can set up a time to talk. I look forward to working with you. .
