During a trip tp Florida in 1996, owner brian Elliott was amazed watching stamped concrete being installed in the theme parks. After much research and several return trips to Florida for hands on training, seminars and trade shows: Custom Concrete Designs was started in 1997. At the time, stamped concrete was a new concept and being the first decorative concrete contractor in Brunswick county was challenging. With the internet and hGTV in their infancy, builder and homeowners were unaware of the many economical options that were available to turn normal gray concrete into something extraordinary. In the begining we even offered a free stamped porch to new builders just to show them what it was. Back then, when we got our mats out and started stamping we usually had an audience. Other subcontractors would stop working and gather around to watch. This was a new concept that many had not seen before. As word got out, our stamped concrete quickly replaced tile porches and brick inlays in driveways. Some builders have stamped every porch since. Almost 20 years, we are still changing the face of concrete. Whether it is stamped, acid stained, salt rock or exposed aggregate; custom concrete designs is the answer.
