One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I was given a verbal quote (reminder always to get quotes in writing) on a small clean up project. Halfway through I was told the price was twice as much. When I questioned this, Derek demanded I pay him the original amount for half the work and then he walked off the job and took the materials I paid for with him. Miscommunications happen, but a good tradesperson will always try to work with the client on a fair resolution. I felt taken advantage of and intimidated. I recommend staying far away.

The owner, Derek Hamilton, is friendly, patient and understanding. He was able to suggest a stone that was agreeable to both myself and my wife. For this fact alone I am forever grateful!! The quote was the final price, so no surprises. Definitely a professional. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others.

I worked with Derek on a project where we were installing floors and doing finishing carpentry and he was doing all the stone work. He was very professional and creative. His attention to detail is second none. He completed the areas he was working on a timely manner. The owner was so happy with what he was doing, he even asked Derek to do more areas into stone which wasn't in the plan. I would highly recommend Derek who needs stone work. He is a true artist.

I recently had Derek create a new floor to ceiling stone fireplace for me and he did a spectacular job! Not only is his work exemplary, but he was a terrific help in the decision making process and was very accommodating when it came to working around my schedule. He even went as far as picking up and delivering the stone for me. He arrived on time, was respectful and courteous, worked hard and left the house in pristine condition when the job was completed. Derek is a skilled and creative stone mason that takes great pride in his work. His remarkable attention to detail resulted in a finished product that I will enjoy for years to come. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and would commission him again should the opportunity arise.
