We are so happy with our new deck and retaining wall! Elvio and his team completely transformed our old wooden deck that was falling apart into a beautiful space that will be ready for entertaining in the spring. Our sagging retaining wall was completely rebuilt and stabilized and we no longer have to worry about everything caving into our yard. We are really pleased with the results of our project.
We are so pleased with our patio that was designed and constructed by Elvio and Sons! We received three quotes and went with Elvio based on his knowledge and flexibility.
Fantastic experience. See my review on FB as well. Elvio and his team were great. The job was done on time, no hassles, and under budget thanks to some deals Elvio found and a few freebie extras along the way. He and his team were professional and pleasant to deal with and we are hiring them all back in the spring to do the hardscaping work. A great experience and I highly recommend them.
Just had a pool installed this fall by Elvio & Sons and am very happy with the entire process. Elvio was very patient with me, through all my millions of questions and he and his crew were very professional and helped me through the entire process. The pool is fantastic, had no issues with inspections and it was installed in 3 days. He took extra time to come back and help with things like fencing, referred me to fence technicians and electricians and really helped to ease any of my concerns. Super excited to have him put in the pavers for my patio in the spring. I see another review on this site that is very negative, but I have to say that my experience was the exact opposite. I recommend him and his team 100%. Very pleased so far!
Please save yourself the trouble and do not use Elvio. We were over billed by thousands of dollars, and Brandon threatened to stop the work because he couldn't find the missing payments. After much fuss, they did locate the missing payments and work resumed with not even an apology. Elvio and crew left garbage and debris lying around my yard, including sharp materials and cigarette butts. I asked to have them remove the garbage for three weeks before I paid someone else to take care of it. Elvio tried to take some shortcuts and installed the pool filter through the sprinkler system, thankfully my landscaper detected this and helped us get it resolved. Elvio is hot headed with serious anger issues. He was unable to work with my contractor or landscaper, forcing my Husband and I to drive down from New Jersey to resolve the problem. His wife/business partner is unable to handle his or explain his frightening antics and just continually apologizes for his reckless and unprofessional behavior. Jay (one of the employees) also apologized for his boss and said he was embarrassed to be sent out to our house with a list of growing unresolved issues. Our pool has still not passed inspection, and is still not completed. We were promised to have the pool finished by July 1. I have emailed and called multiple times to resolve these issues to either be ignored or to be told I am harassing them. I am not one to negatively review businesses but building a pool should be an exciting enjoyable experience not a frightening nightmare.
Comment from Elvio and Sons:
In response to Ms. Viar's review, we must first start by stating that we have the utmost respect for each and every one of our clients. We find it unfortunate to hear that Ms. Viar was this dissatisfied with the level of service that she received. We apologize for any confusion in communications on our end, and have worked to rectify those issues moving forward as a team. The pool has since passed inspection with local building officials. In regards to the claims of over-billing, the additional changes to the scope of the project that Ms. Viar requested after the acceptance of the initial agreement resulted in these additional charges. The fact that changes would result in additional, or revised charges, was communicated prior to the execution of any change requests. A complaint filed with the Rhode Island Contractors Board by Ms. Viar has been reviewed and the Board found that all work was completed and conformed with industry standards. We encourage anyone with additional concerns to reach out to us directly where we are happy to provide clarification as to our business practices and our mission to deliver a positive experience and create trusting, lasting, relationships with clients.
