We hired Brad in late 2017 to construct a large hillside pool and deck in our yard. He was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. The pool is quite large and the project was expensive and required several months to complete. Brad is one of the only pool builders with experience specifically building hillside pools. As with any such project, lots of issues came up however Brad, his crew and designers were highly responsive and worked closely with us to make sure the final outcome was exactly what we wanted. His crew is extremely professional and we didn’t feel uncomfortable with them in our yard for several months. The bulk of the construction was completed over 9 months. I would highly recommend Brad and his company without hesitation.

We bought a house in the Valley and knew we wanted to add a pool. Our backyard was a dirt patch. It is now a gorgeous sparkling pool surrounded by fruit trees with a great deck, grass and pergola. LA Pool Builders handled all aspects of the project. It was so easy to work with their team- Aaron and Miranda were quick to respond, open and honest about cost and any changes we wanted to make, and responsive to our needs and concerns. They worked fast- the project took two months from when they broke ground- and kept us updated on any delays. We are thrilled with the quality of all their work. After everything was completed my husband spotted a small spot on the concrete and let them know. The next day they sent a crew chief to handle it and it was resolved immediately. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Brad, Miranda, and the entire Los Angeles Pool Builders (LAPB) team epitomizes professionalism, creative passion, and a 'client first' attitude. Highly recommended! I started this project full of angst, considering the sum of money involved (+$100k) and the real concern that I end up with some unscrupulous contractor learning the trade on my dime. I did my due diligence and interviewed no less than 9 candidates for my contemporary softscape, hardscape, fire pit, and salt water pool backyard project. Brad offered his vision and the most sensible ideas from the pack, leveraging years of experience and taking into account the look and feel we wanted, our budget, and timeline. I didn't get this from the other contractors. He made recommendations on layout, design, and materials that just made sense! On one occasion, he made the case that a solar heating feature that we wanted was unnecessary considering our location in the San Fernando Valley and the heating effect we will get from our pool cover. Not only was he absolutely right (after having spent the entire summer swimming in bathtub-like temperatures without using heating), he saved us thousands in unnecessary expenditures. On another occasion, he went the extra mile and worked on the landscaping for a section of the backyard outside of the project scope and budget so that the aesthetics of the ENTIRE area came together and looked complete! Miranda ran point with the landscaping. Based on input we provided her, she put together a plant and tree palette that accentuated all of the design elements we were looking for. Her expertise has significant value since my wife and I know nothing about landscaping. Since the project completed (Aug 2015), she has even visited several times to check on the plants and have replaced several that didn't fare so well--at no cost! Brad will work with you on the budget, only billing AFTER the work is rendered. Other contractors wanted 50% of the estimated project cost upfront--this was an important selling point with LAPB as it remediated risk! His tradesmen are all proven, long term employees, not subcontractors who come and go. They came promptly in the morning (7:30am) and left the job site clean at the end of the day--the occasional weekend work was even put in to meet our timeline expectations. LAPB is as good as they come. Brad came in on budget, on time, and with a backyard showpiece of uncompromised quality. They have my trust and we would absolutely work with them again.

Brad and his crews did an amazing job. I got bids from several other pool companies and Brad was the most fair and competitive. NO change orders. The price he gives you is the price you will pay. No surprises. He has all his crews in house which means not having to wait on sub contractors. With our pool it involved excavating a 1960's pool that had been filled in by the previous home owners. Brad expedited the permit process and we had a new pool in a matter of weeks! His crews were always on time and worked diligently every day. Brad is a visionary in the Pool Building arena and I can't recommend him enough.

Loved all of Brad's crew. I got everything I asked for. My back yard has been transformed into an inviting oasis. Our pool had been an eye sore for some time but after Brad was done it's amazingly beautiful and has added value to our home. I would totally recommend LA Pool builders again!!

everything from start to finish went smoothly with brad and company. they were here everyday even coming on saturdays a few times. the whole job went extremely fast. they cleaned up everyday and at end cleared out and made sure everything was back in place. the pool has been working great and we are loving the spa as well. brad always got right back to me when i had any sort of question which was wonderful!!! i would highly recommend brad/l.a.pool builders to anyone. we never had any issues. the whole process was a pleasant experience. THEY ARE FANTASTIC.

We started our backyard pool project by having a landscape architect work with my wife and I to design the backyard down to the landscape and landscape lighting prior to getting quotes from builders. We had 3 reputable pool builders quote pool & hardscape figuring we could have the landscape quoted/done after. LA Pool Builders was not the cheapest but they had a very good understanding of our expectations and what we wanted as a finished product. Even with a well-defined plan, there is still a lot left to interpretation and I felt we needed a contractor that was going to do it right rather than cheap. Brad and his team were the contracting team for the job. Right from the beginning, Aaron Hixon (Superintendent) put a plan together to make sure all the piece were in place for a completion date of no later that July 4. Aaron was extremely courteous, professional and accessible. Aaron’s site supervisor and lead guy Isidro was phenomenal. It was clear from day 1 that he was treating my job like it was his own house. He takes a lot or pride in his work and it shows. Now that he’s done, I’m going to miss seeing him every morning. We ultimately used Aaron and LA Pool Builders to do the landscape as well. The end result is we finished on-time and on-budget. EVERYTHING turned out great. We are so happy with the entire experience and the new backyard. LA Pool Builders is the best in town. We love the work and even though is was a total remodeling the crew was never in the way. Brad had visions and it looks like a million!

I had four bids on my infinity pool and koi pond/outdoor living area in the Hollywood Hills. It was Brad's vision and the fact that "he got it" and "got me" that cinched my deal. Brad cared - Brad got it - Brad was on it - and Brad got the deal. He is an amazing teammate and plays well in the sand box. My job was very difficult due to the slope of my property and access. LA Pool Builders never complained - and did not nickel and dime me to death on the issues that arose that were not planned. 100% on budget and actually saved me money in places we could cut. Brad's crews were on the job at 7 AM sharp every day. They finished before the nine months that was planned. Brad is one contractor I would not hesitate to hire again. My pool and outdoor living area is beyond "WOW" and an oasis in my - and my friends lives.

We hired L.A. Pool Builders on the suggestion of a trusted contractor friend, and boy, was he right. I can't recommend this company strongly enough. We needed a complete pool/deck re-do. We had this done many years ago and had to live with the crappy results — in the intervening years we learned just what a bad job we had gotten. We had some site-specific challenges with our yard. Brad and the guys at L.A.P.B . really listened, and came up with some very creative solutions. They did not push any particular methods or materials — they presented options and opinions, then respected our choices. At every step the workers were top-notch. On-time, polite, neat, respectful of our needs. When decisions had to be made, the very best solution was always employed, even if it meant complications and difficulties for the workers. One small example: we had some extra tiles left over, and one of the guys suggested a very artistic use for them which we now appreciate as one of the nicer aspects of our pool. They didn't have to do this, and it didn't cost extra. And when problems with the original drainage plan arose, they came up with a plan 'B' that probably cost them some extra dough, but our numbers didn't change. This kind of thinking seems to be the usual way of doing business with this company. The work was finished exactly when it was supposed to be, and cost what they said it would (Brad was very helpful getting us what we wanted for what we had to spend). When they had finished and moved on, we had a few details which cropped up as we began to use our new pool and deck; a simple phone call or email was all it took to get us completely squared away. Either someone came right back out, or things were cleared up on the phone — Brad will spend all the time you need to discuss any problem you might encounter. So — in a world of disappointing contractors — these guys are a breath of fresh air. Good help with planning, and then they did exactly what they were supposed to do, when they were supposed to do it. So simple — why can't they all be like this? We've been enjoying our pool and deck for almost a year now, and appreciate it more every day. Thanks, Brad! By the way, if you are considering switching from chlorine to a saline-based system, believe me when I tell you it is worlds better! I was completely against this (I thought it would be ocean-salty — it's not). Now I'm so pleased that we took the plunge (sorry). The saline is virtually undetectable even with eyes open under water. And it leaves your hair and skin feeling silky and smooth. Ask Brad about this, and please take my vote into consideration — you will not regret it, I swear! A NOTE, ADDED OCTOBER 2015 We have now had our pool for three-plus years. The pool and deck are still in good shape, and we've really been enjoying our back yard. I want to add this to our original review: When our pool developed a mysterious problem (stemming from an incorrectly anchored bond beam in the original 1960s pool installation, apparently) we called Brad. A team was dispatched to diagnose and repair the problem. Ultimately, the repair represented a substantial amount of work over several days. As of today, the new work has completely solved the problem. And we never received a bill for any of it — this company stands by its work. Thanks Brad!

I have worked with L.A. Pool builders on many projects in the difficult hillside areas of Los Angeles. Hillside projects require additional construction and engineering expertise beyond building the pool itself, as many require deepened foundations, specific structural engineering for the geologic conditions (per the recommendations contained in our reports), and have poor construction access. My experience with LA Pool Builders indicates that they perform at the highest professional level, required for these type of projects. I refer them frequently for new projects and receive very positive feedback from the clients.

LA Pool Builders built our pool and it was one of the best contracting experiences we've ever had (and we've had many!). The estimate was exact almost to the dollar, as was the time frame given to complete the job (fast). When the inspector came, he even noted what a clean job site it was. Brad was personable, straightforward, and honest; a consummate professional. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to put in a new pool!
