He quickly won our confidence by doing a small project for us about a year before the renovation. Will is a person who keeps his word and he does what he says he will do when he says he will do it. He communicated extensively with us at all times by telephone, text and email. He was always available when we would call or he would call us back immediately. We could always rely on lots of pictures to explain the progress being made or to obtain direction from us if needed. In our renovation project, we removed all of the interior elements of our 1980’s mid-century modern style condominium including drywall, electrical, plumbing and windows. A major renovation involves hundreds of design decisions and attention to as many details. Will Kleehammer did not miss a beat and truly amazed us with his recall of numerous conversations he had with us when we were brainstorming on how our ideas could turn into reality. Looking at draft plans of a new kitchen, a built-in cabinet or a laundry room is difficult for most homeowners, so to go forward with a contractor, is largely a matter of faith. Our trust was well placed in Will, and he exceeded our expectations during this entire renovation project. There were several residential and commercial code requirements that had to be met because this is a condominium. Structural engineering requirements had to be fulfilled. Will deftly navigated the various permits, requirements and inspections so that the project would not get delayed. The business of government permits and inspections is a very time consuming and necessary part of any renovation project. We appreciated that Will handled all of this aspect of the project for us. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. Will has many talented long term employees who made all of our dreams come true. Retrofitting all of the trim in a 1980’s condominium where walls are not plumb and corners are crooked is a testimony to talent and tenacity. The work areas were always cleaned up at the end of each day and materials were kept organized. A thorough construction clean up was done at completion, and we were most grateful for that. We are extremely happy with the end result and are always pleased to show it off! We were not constrained in our budget. Nevertheless, Will often had ideas that saved money and still gave us what we wanted and usually more. Our relationship throughout this project was always congenial and fun. That is a rarity in the construction business today!”
