Beware of Bayside Granite: Poor Workmanship and Unethical Practices
I hired Bayside Granite to fabricate and install granite countertops in my new bathrooms and kitchen. The company sent inexperienced workers who made several mistakes, including cutting the granite too short, cracking it, and installing it crookedly.
When I complained, the owner, Adriana Gatti, refused to fix the job without me paying her the 20% balance of the 80% I prepaid her. She also refused to send a more experienced worker to fix the job.
The photos I have attached below show the work errors that were made by Bayside Granite. As you can see, the work was of very poor quality and I had to pay another contractor to do it correctly which cost me thousands of dollars. I am very disappointed with Bayside Granite and would not recommend them to anyone.
Specific examples of the company's poor workmanship:
· The workers cut the granite around my bathtub too short. This required them to put a seam in it, which is not ideal.
· They cracked the granite around one of the vanities and repaired it poorly. The crack is still visible, and it is not as smooth as it should be
· They installed the vanities crookedly, I saw that one of the vanities was installed with a small patch in the corners where the granite had been cut too short. The second vanity was installed correctly, but the third vanity was cracked in the corner and repaired poorly. It was also too short by ¼ inch on the side and one inch shorter across the entire front. Another vanity had an overhang of 1 ½ inches, and another had an overhang of ¼ inch. The work was of such poor quality that it looked like it had been done by a child..
The workers were often late for appointments, and sometimes they didn't show up at all. They also canceled appointments many times, which made it difficult to schedule the work.
Additional information:
· The owner of the company sent inexperienced workers to do the job, even though she knew that the granite was expensive and that the work required experience. This is a red flag that the company is not committed to quality.
· The owner of the company refused to fix the job without being paid the full amount, even though the job was not done correctly. This is unethical and unfair to the customer.
· The owner of the company has a history of poor customer service and work workmanship on other sites on the internet. I wish I would have researched them first.
conclusion
I urge you to avoid Bayside Granite at all costs. The company has inexperienced workers, unethical practices, and a history of poor customer service.

The owner Adrienna is AMAZING. My husband is supposed to do a review with photos but for now, I want to say from the moment we walked in she was like family! She also said we can look at the granite at several other places, if they didn’t have what we liked. My mom became a customer too. I love her approach, Honesty and warmth. Thank you sweetheart!

Came across these folks at the Home Show. Very nice when they are selling you, but watch out after the sale.
Positives - they are timely and prompt for home appointments.
Nice selection of slabs. Patrick the salesman is pleasant (has no authority).
Negative-watch them closely when they map your slab with template. Take your own pictures. They will move the template to maximum the remainder of the slab for resale and leave you with less desirable sections.
Don’t fall for the showroom book with reviews. They ask you to fill out the form immediately after the job is done, before you have a chance to inspect. At this point, you’re likely to sign and review quick to get them out of your house. Hard to be objective when they are looking at the form with you.
If you bump into an issue, they get super defensive...even when you supply pictures. It’s actually laughable. They screwed up big time on my counter top. A corner was so off square it wasn’t even a question....sent multiple pictures and they will tell you your “your cabinets must have collapsed, your original counter top was cut that way, you signed off on the template “.
When the owner,Lori, came out to my home to see the issue, it took her less than 15 seconds to agree they screwed up.
The fix was brutal, but they did fix the issue in home...very messy and inconvenient.
Additionally , at the Home Show, they will give you a coupon for an free upgrade....I just recently realized even though I presented the coupon early on, it wasn’t applied.
Overall, I wasn’t impressed with the workmanship or the defensive attitude. I was very polite and professional when I brought the poor workmanship to their attention. I paid them in full immediately...which was a mistake, but their contract says they will put a lien on your house if you don’t pay within 24 hours. After all this...they never offered to adjust my bill. That would have been appropriate. I probably should have insisted, but that shouldn’t have been necessary.
Next time I will be smarter. Hopefully, you will learn from my mistakes.

The absolute worst customer service I have encountered. what I ordered was not delivered and the owner then charged me an extra $600 to make it right (this was after he charged me $70/ sq ft....knowing I had been searching forever for the right granite and it was the last slab). I am in shock at the utter lack of respect, responsibility and honesty!! Please, if you do hire them, BEWARE and read everything carefully before you sign. But, I would avoid doing business with them unless you have to!!!

The reason for the upcharge was due to the fact that she changed the edge treatment after we came out to install to a more expensive edge treatment. So I agree with Mrs. Meshanko that you should read what you sign. It is a contract and everything stated on the invoice is exactly how your stone will be fabricated. First, we emailed her a copy of the contract for her to review. Second, we verbally read over the contract with her including what edge she would receive. She didn't say anything about the standard edge that was listed on the contract and signed it. When we came out to install it, her top had the standard edge she agreed and signed off on. She wanted a more expensive upgraded edge. In the end we brought the stone back to the shop and re-profiled it to the new edge she had later requested which resulted in additional charge.

After carefully selecting our granite, going to the granite yard several times, talking with our sales person several times, we picked our favorite granite. When invoiced we told the sales person it wasn't written correctly on the invoice, he replied it was the only one the slab yard had to the one word being slightly misspelled was OK. When the granite arrived it was the wrong granite. When I asked that they get the correct slab, they stated they would have to charge me a restocking fee! Finally they agreed not to do this. I was then told that I would charged more because the granite I wanted was a higher price. They said I told them the wrong one and the wrong slab yard, I had never even been to the slab yard they ordered from, never even heard of them. Finally they argued that it was my fault because the name wasn't spelled correctly. I finally had to pay $500 more for my granite, which was very upsetting. They offered no remorse, and basically acted as if it was my fault. Terrible customer service.
