Beware. Poor craftsmanship. Our fireplace installed by guys via our builder is completely botched. Poor lines, grout lines uneven, using chipped tiles, tiles not sanded down and they also used different color tiles. Worst mistake of our life and now we are going to be out $10k to pay someone else to rip this down and put it back up. Not to mention our shower has two cracked tiles and they still installed over it. Also see gap in flooring that builder refuses to fix because they would have to rip everything out Beware. We would give Guy’s negative stars if it were allowed. We moved into a new house two years ago. After four attempts, Guy’s has been unable to properly tile a shower. In addition to multiple instances of poor craftsmanship, the organization has attempted to cover over damaged Sheetrock creating the potential for future water damage. Twenty four months of excuses and conflicting information. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to save yourself a lot of time and frustration. The pictures are from their most recent attempt to “fix” the tile. You can see the protective barrier missing from the Sheetrock behind the tile. Updating my original post: We found a skilled contractor to try to repair the issues caused by Guy’s multiple attempts to properly install bathroom wall tile. Upon removing the original tile, we were able to confirm that Guy’s knowingly installed tile on materially damaged Sheetrock. In the picture, you can see mortar or thin set in the damaged area of the Sheetrock.

We bought a new house that was a spec home. Guys flooring installed carpet floors with a nylon Berber carpet. Within 2 weeks after moving in the carpet started to fray, Guys inspector came out and looked at carpet he told us this was not normal and that we had a higher end carpet. Four weeks later Guys contacted the builder and told them and told us they would not stand behind the one year builders warranty or manufacture warranty. We are extremely disappointed at their customer service and products. Would not recommend what so ever!

I'm definitely not one to write reviews but our experience with Guy's was enough to bring me out of my shell. I can't even begin to fully explain how pleased and amazed my wife and I are with the service and product Guy's provided us. We started the design process with an incredibly sweet, friendly (and patient:) lady named Kathy who was a wealth of knowledge. We literally both hugged her after the meeting! Next, we got a quote and call from a John and Bill not even 24 hours later scheduling our countertop, backsplash and carpet install to be performed the following week. We were expecting the wait to be a lot longer and were ridiculously amazed at the turnaround time. When install time came around, the crews showed up on time and worked their butts off! Can't remember everyone's name but please tell them thank you again and Esid? (backsplash installer) is an artist and even my other contractor said that you don't see that type of quality work around anymore. They were so friendly and seriously left my house cleaner than it was when they arrived. Both John and Bill even came out to check on the project progress and make sure we were happy. That definitely wasn't expected but was a very nice gesture. In the end, the project was an absolute success and our kitchen and carpets look so beautiful! The only problem is that my wife now wants to do the master bath :). I obviously highly recommend Guy's and am a customer for life. Thx. *I included the before and after pics of our kitchen

Unfortunately they were chosen by our builder for the home finishes. Reading the reviews I can't understand why such an expensive builder would get into business with them. Whoever they have hired to do their tile work takes zero pride in their work. Terrible basic tile work and even worse attention to detail. When warranty work time came around there was no one around guys that could show up to fix the work in a timely fashion. When they finally came the person fixing their own mistakes had again no attention to detail. It's like hand holding a child and pointing out every last detail to get it to look subpar. Worst thing is the work is still not complete and we are talking three months since initially beginning. There is apparently no one to complete it as the "one" person that can "run" the show had "surgery." There is an excuse for everything, no accountability and no work ethic. If they can't do a simple tile job with standard tile with little design effort, you better watch out for anything remotely difficult. Costumer service and work ethic would get a zero star if possible. Trust me from all of the complaints from my neighbors, you will not be getting a different experience, this seems to be their M.O.

Less than 2 months into the completion of our hardwood floors, we have gaps between the boards big enough to fit a penny. The finish on the floors has cracked. Guy's is unwilling to stand behind their work and will not repair their horrible work. I am so disappointed that we used this company to do our hardwood floors. We have a signed letter from the foreman stating he would be back to repair our floors. Now Guy's is saying that letter is not valid. Buyer beware!!!

Hello Abbie,

Guy's has been standing behind our work for 75 years. The information you posted in anger to multiple social media outlets was premature; it was written before your complaint could be addressed by Guy's and/or the home builder involved. Hardwood gapping is to be expected in Colorado's climate because wood is an organic material. It is hygroscopic, meaning it expands and contracts with fluctuating humidity levels. This is well documented in our Care & Maintenance materials - even requiring a signature from clients to confirm their awareness and understanding. Your floor's gaps are well within industry tolerances and are not a result of poor installation. Rather, they are the result of seasonal moisture changes and the extremely low humidity levels you maintain in the home. Because of this fact, we will not replace a perfectly good floor. However, we have agreed to use minimal wood filler and refinish the entire floor in order to satisfy your concerns. We feel there is an important distinction to be made between poor quality/craftsmanship and homeowner expectations that are not in line with the nature of the material itself. We sincerely hope you will rediscover the inherent beauty of hardwood, along with all of its variable characteristics.

Very respectful of my time in choosing the right color stain for our new hardwoods, even after we changed the color of the stain (prior to putting it down). When we discovered issue after the job was completed they were more than happy to return and fix the problem.

I have worked with Guys Floor Service ever since I joined Ryland Homes back in 1995 and they have provided flooring, kitchen and bath upgrades for thousands of homes during that time. They are by far the best sub-contractor that we do business with. Not only do they provide our homebuyers with a wonderful experience at their design center they are a pleasure to work with. Our Jobsite supers enjoy working with them and they stand behind their work, if they make a mistake (which isn't often, they fix it) We will continue to work with them for years to come.
