“I hired Tom to design and build our gunite pool based on recommendations from the firm that did our landscaping. In my experience, pool builders are a sketchy bunch - I called no fewer than 4 companies for quotes. 2 never even bothered to show up to quote, 1 spent an hour measuring and never came back with a quote, and the final one was at my house for 10 minutes, wrote a number on a piece of paper and handed it to me - no details on equipment, lights, etc. Just a number and he left. Read other pool builder reviews and you'll see the same. Tom showed up numerous occasions to discuss the pool's function (are you doing laps, playing with kids, just floating with a drink?), and ultimately he's the one we hired. He hit every deadline, kept every promise, and has done a truly professional job for us. I probably could have spent less, but I am sure we would have paid in the end in lesser equipment, lesser quality, and more headaches. Pay now or pay later is what I always find in construction.
