Aimee's work never ceases to amaze me. I have had her upholster a chair for me and have purchased one of her completed pieces. I have also attended two of her DIY workshops. Aimee is incredibly professional. You know what you're getting and always end up with something better than you could have hoped for. I look forward to finding more pieces working with her again and again.

The workshop was a lot of fun and I could not believe how much we accomplished in one day - the pink chair is the before, the neutral dark star pattern is the after. The studio was very well laid out and with only four participants, there was ample room to move around and lots of opportunity for one-on-one instruction. It was also very informative to see the other projects evolve over the day. Aimee was an excellent teacher - she seemed to know when we could do something on our own and when she needed to step in. I feel that I learned enough to do another similar scale project on my own. I hope to take another workshop with a different style of chair so that I can learn new techniques. All-in-all, one of the best workshops I have taken and the price was right.

I have an antique child's chair that was looking old and dingy. I took it to Artisan Upholstery Studio and they did an amazing job bringing this little chair back to life and make it a center of attraction in a room. The owner of the company is very professional, mindful of her customers needs and full of suggestions on how to make it better.

Wow!! I love Aimee's work!! We bought an old, beat up, retro sofa and she made it look brand new!! She took measurements and let me know how much fabric to buy. She helped me to decide what kind of fabric would look best. She touched up the wood finish (which I wasn't expecting). She did an excellent job on the upholstering... I couldn't be more pleased!!

We had tried to find reupholsters in Nova Scotia a few years ago - of the few we found, the cost far exceeded the price to buy new and the workmanship samples were ok. This spring we did another market search and found Aimee Switkit - a world-class upholsterer (really, an artist) with an eye for design, detail and a gift for perfect execution - at a surprisingly affordable cost. She did a site visit to measure our 10 or so pieces, provided fabric advice and was open about timelines. Every single item (some leather chairs, a wingback, a bench, a rocker) just delighted us. She did some extras like reinforce some of the wooden frames, tidied up scuffed wood - and the precision of things like piping, and odd curves for the upholstery are better than the original. Family treasures are now works of art. Nova Scotia is really fortunate to have an artisan of Aimee's calibre. And we are really enjoying being fortunate enough to have some of her work in our home.

Aimee did an amazing job on my extra '70s rocking chair. She perfectly matched the pattern of the fabric and the chair is more comfortable than ever, thanks to some well placed padding. Prompt communication, beautiful craftsmanship and well priced.

I looked into many upholsterers in the area to have my great grandfather's original office chairs reworked and repaired back to a match set. However, I always came back to Aimee because as you can see from her projects, she works some sort of voodoo magic. Not to mention she was beyond patient and helpful with me as I ventured into the mysterious and intimidating world of fabric selection- 'double rub huh?' I was so excited when I first saw my chairs that I just kept gazing at them and Aimee had to remind me to actually sit in them and try them out; Oh right! Furniture is for using! But really, these chairs are so pretty to look at - real art. If you are debating re-upholstery, I am very happy that I decided to go with reupholstering these chairs instead of purchasing something new. I have a product I love; they look just the way I want; they have history; they have the durability of older furniture and craftsmanship that can not be bought at Winners; and I recycled and kept my footprint small. I have had many compliments on my new fixtures and the makeover was beyond recognition to some. I have passed on Aimee's name to friends and will continue to spread the good word for Artisan Upholstery. Thanks Aimee!

Aimee reupholstered a love seat for me and it is beautiful. I am excited to receive its mate, which she is currently working on. I would highly recommend Aimee as she is a talented crafts person who offers excellent service and does impeccable work.

Amy did a makeover on the sofa we found on the side of the road. Even with springs hanging out of the bottom and the stuffing hanging out, I new she was a gorgeous gem ! When Amy looked at her, she saw the same thing.....2 weeks in Amys capable hands, and my girl is a showstopper, I get comments on how beautiful my sofa is all the time ! I'm always looking for other pieces, I'm not limited to the current paint or upholstery 5 stars for Amy !!
