NGage Properties Group
Washington D.C., DC House Plan Professionals
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJune 25, 2021
NGage Property Groups was an excellent experience. Nicole Butler, the owner, really took the time to listen to the wants and desires of my fiancé and me as we embarked on building a home together during the pandemic. Nicole is not just a contractor; instead, Nicole is a visionary who listened to us and pushed our thinking to another level. For example, we wanted basic recess lighting in the kitchen, and she suggested pendants, which are now the centerpiece of our home. We wanted a simple paint job in the bathroom, and she suggested updating our dated shower to a modern and elegant glass shower. Most importantly, she never said no to our wants or anything that a home renovation project entailed. Instead, she came up with creative ideas to meet both our desires and dollars. Basically, she took our home from “ashy to classy” and made our house a home that both of us love. If you want to ensure that you are heard and your needs are met, go with NGage Property Groups. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been using IRG for numerous renovations over the years as well as recommending them to my clients for projects ranging from bathroom and kitchen remodels, finishing basements, digging basements out, and entire house renovations. They go above and beyond with the attention to detail, customer service, and overall experience with the project. They are very knowledgeable with regards to cost saving measures and permitting to make sure your job is done on time, with the best quality around. I highly recommend them for any project, large or small!
Spectrum Design + Build

Average rating: 4 out of 5 starsNovember 21, 2014
Spectrum has done a full bathroom and basement renovation for us, in addition to several smaller projects including replacing all the exterior doors to the house and refinishing our front porch. The quality of the work is excellent. Communicating for the purpose of planning and providing feedback is easy due to their rapid response and liberal use of email and cell contact. They responded well to feedback regarding the work site when we had complaints about dust and so forth. The quality of their work holds up; our bathroom completed in 2008 continues to be in terrific condition. They were described by the person who referred them, an architect, very accurately. "They're not the cheapest, but they're the best." I highly recommend them.
Donald Lococo Architects

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsDecember 16, 2013
I have been working with Donald Lococo Architects for the past two years on a large residential project in Alexandria, Virginia. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Donald and his staff. The house is a fabulous hybrid: traditional front facade contrasted with a thoroughly modern section in the back. The house is nearing completion...seeing this space come together - full of glass, light and dramatic open spaces - has been wonderful to watch. Five star design...five star firm!

John Lehman has a long-standing reputation for providing an exceptional experience for his clients from the early design phase through the completion of the home. In 2012, DeSantana Stone Company had the pleasure of working with John on a house that he designed in Ellicott City, Maryland. Our company has built a friendly working relationship with John and we look forward to working with him in the future.

When we were unable to sell our early 1900's home in a slow market, we decided we needed to expand for our expanding family. We contacted Jon to work us up some ideas. Between the limitations of little property and my need for the house to remain in keeping with the style and era of the house-I was not so sure we would be able to get what we needed. I was AMAZED at what Jon was able to vision and create for us!! We were able to get everything we needed, plus what we wanted!! I can't say enough about how happy we are in our "new" home and the number of compliments we get from our neighbors. We highly recommend Jonathan to anyone in need of a creative and innovative architect.

We had a bathroom and laundry room renovation, with installation of a new front door. The project was well planned, with online access to all plans and orders. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and professional. The workmanship was outstanding. The project was on time and stayed within the budget. They listened to what we wanted and the design reflected that. We have been very happy with the results. It was a pleasure to work with this company.
Wentworth, Inc.

Our kitchen and family room renovation was not our first construction project, having done 3 other major projects and built a house long-distance. We started this project with another design-build firm that has an excellent reputation in Washington, DC area, but we quickly severed that relationship--and walked away from our deposit--because neither the design nor the communication was what we wanted. The decision to change firms and start over ended up being a great decision. So we began interviewing--again. This time we hit the jackpot with Bruce Wentworth of Wentworth Inc. His three design proposals were inspired and gave us all of our wish list: walk-in pantry, no upper cabinets over the work areas (but lots of storage), large island, butler's pantry, clutter-free paper storage system, more open kitchen/family room, and overall a kitchen and family room that are a better fit for our 1926 house. We also had lots of little things that we wanted such as no outlets on the backsplash--no easy feat in those areas where we had no upper cabinets--and custom-designed pantry shelves, but they solved each item on my wish list, brilliantly. Before the construction began, we had a meeting so that we knew what to expect. Did any surprises arise? Of course they did--this is a house built in 1926! However, all those surprises were solved seamlessly by the design-build team. Any time I had a question or needed design advice, I was totally comfortable calling the architects and or talking with the lead carpenter, depending on what the question was. In addition, one of the architects went with me on all shopping trips to pick out, for instance, the countertops, the sink, the tile for the backsplash, the faucet, etc. Never was I sent to a showroom on my own. Sometimes, the architects had assembled the samples for me at their office and I made my decisions there. What an easy process that was, especially since the architects had already narrowed down the choices for me. All of the team members were professional, friendly, and as detail-oriented as I am. Oh, did I mention that the project was on budget AND on time? And the final result? Beyond our wildest dreams--everyone who walks in says it looks exactly like us, fits the house, and is gorgeous. Would I hire Wentworth again? Absolutely.

Where to begin! Melanie Hartwig-Davis is an extraordinary architect. She has worked on a number of projects for us, including our kitchen, family room/bathroom, and an extensive project where she completely transformed the outside of our house by adding lighted flagstone stairs, custom-designed wrought iron railings and an outdoor deck/entryway that provided us with much needed additional living space. The kitchen she designed for us completely exceeded our expectations. Melanie is one of those rare individuals who is able to think like an engineer and an artist at the same time. It seemed as if she immediately recognized what we needed to do with our space. This required creative interior design ideas to accommodate existing conditions. In addition to serving as our architect, she guided us in selecting colors, lighting, and stylistic features. We had a small space in which to work. She designed a kitchen that was functional, had ample cabinet and counter space, and was visually impressive. We could never have reached such a successful result without her input. One of the aspects we appreciate about Melanie is that she cares. She respects the integrity of the space, the style of the house, and the architecture of the neighborhood. She truly wants her projects to add to the livability of not only her clients but also the community. She is environmental in her choice of materials, and as a result, has impacted all of our additional household decisions. When it came time to replace the siding on our house, we went with a composite siding because we knew that is what she would recommend. We have since moved to a new house and invited Melanie over before our own family. We have a number of projects we hope to complete in the future and we would never use anyone else besides Melanie.
