We're sorry to hear of this issue.
It looks as though our estimator was advised that your interior wood liners were to remain in-place which is the common practice for replacement windows so that you don't need to re-build the interior. This is the reason that the new windows are smaller as they were designed and measured to fit inside your finished opening and note the rough opening with these finishes removed. I know that our estimator came over to look at the issue the same day you called in and from what I understand, the two of you discussed this and were okay with the logic behind the sizing. You also signed off on all the sizes we manufactured the custom supply only windows too so some ownership must be taken from yourself as well.
We hope in-time you grow to love your windows.
We strive for complete customer satisfaction and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience on this job.
Geoff is a repeat customer for West Coast Windows and we value and appreciate his business. His previous home that we built windows for was a lot simpler and a completely different type of window installation. This current order was a “new construction” type of install and there is always work to be done after our crew has left.
It was made clear to the client that even though he pre-painted the lengths of wood trims, he will still need to sand and paint before the job is 100% complete. The pre-painting helps with cutting in where the window meets the trim and the trim meets the siding but it won’t take away the painting prep work always needed after a window installation. The sealing of the window is our first priority and one of the reasons we can offer a lifetime warranty on the product and installation. We apologize that the job has taken so long to finish but the customer will only let us do work on his home outside of our operating hours and it has been extremely difficult to pencil in the work before or after we are closed for the day.
We stand by our product and installation with a lifetime and transferable warranty. Although this job has had a few speed bumps along the way, in the end we hope that Geoff loves his new windows for many years to come.
