About Us

Curtains for You, owned and operated by Julie Newton, serves the window fashion and soft home furnishing needs of the greater NYC area. Julie uses the highest quality standards to create custom curtains, shades, valances, cushions, pillows, bedding, and much more. Julie also creates slipcovers and recovers cushions. Working with the film and tv industry as well as many museums and galleries, Julie is often called upon to create beautiful custom projects in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. She welcomes such challenges with grace and commitment to meeting the deadline no matter what it takes. In addition to home furnishings and decor, Julie works with clients to fabricate one-of-a-kind items and prototypes and to complete production runs of specialty fabric products and custom items. If you have a unique project requiring seamstress services, Julie will be happy to work with you.

Julie was wonderful to work with, and my curtains are gorgeous! She was quick and professional. Julie measured, gave me a quote right away and directed me as to where to buy the linen for my sheers. She completed the sheers as soon as the fabric came so that I had some privacy. I ordered the fabric for the curtains, which she began as soon as it arrived. Julie also made me four pillows for my couch. I could not be happier with her work. She is a gem.

I hired Julie to create custom black out shades for our new baby's nursery. There is a patio door and a window in the room making the dimensions unique enough that they require custom work. I'd priced Curtains For You competitors and everything came back exceeding 1k, which for a rental apartment I wasn't willing to spend. Julie responded quickly, gave me a clear and reasonable quote, and came in under 1k for the project. I'd also waited until the very last minute to reach out, yet she worked quickly to get the curtains made and installed as close to the baby's due date as possible. In addition to the work turning out beautifully and exactly as discussed, Julie was sweet and thoughtful in checking in on our new addition to the family. Victor, who installed the curtains, worked quickly and efficiently and was beyond friendly! All in all I couldn't recommend this company more.
