1 Review for Custom Products
Their product bought at Lowes
less than $1,000
I went to Lowe's to look for some sort of insulation for a new outdoor faucet I had installed. While there looking, I spotted Custom Product's Faucet Sock. It seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. It contains 3M Thinsulate Insulation and is like a sock that will fit over a faucet. They apparently offer both a small version for a spigot that comes straight out of the house, and a large version for a spigot and pipe that comes up out of the ground. I think the idea is a very good design. What really bothered me is that, though their label on the package, shows how the small sock fits and how the large sock fits, their label doesn't clearly state which product you are buying. I looked all over the label and could not tell whether the sock was a big one or a small one. So, I figured that the sock must be unfoldable, and could be used for both a small or big application. I paid for it and went to my house to cover the spigot (I needed the big sock). Lo and behold, I found that it was only a small sock, and was not unfoldable into a larger one. At that point, I started carefully looking over the label, only to find the words "small faucet sock" directly over the sku number. It actually looked like sku information. So, they have this big 3" x 6" label on the package, but have printed the word "small" 1/16" high directly over the sku. Hey, Custom Products, you have a neat product, but you've got to learn to label your stuff. I'll be sending this complaint to Lowes, also. This was a real waste of my time.
