You wanted a discontinued product. Hunter Douglas discontinues products generally, with good reason.
The Customer Service Department you spoke with deals directly with the public only, that Department does not make decisions on fabrication. This was confirmed by my Hunter Douglas Representative. What you had shared with me was that they said you could "buy the parts".
Yes, I did state that buying parts for one product and trying to fabricate it with another product is unusual. I'm sorry if you saw my confusion as getting upset. Selling parts made for one product, to fabricate with another product (that Hunter Douglas discontinued) is non-standard and would be a liability as we could not ensure their proper function.
I do truly apologize that we mistakenly gave you the impression that we could accommodate your request upon your first visit. Had we fully understood the scope of your request, we would've have given you the proper "I'm sorry, that's not something we can do." response and would not have wasted your time. In an effort to make up for the time you spent, I sent you a gift certificate for movies and a dinner, but you mailed it back, unopened.
*Your review states that you received an estimate, however when going over your scenario with the main owner we were not able to quote and offer you what you wanted, hence the reviews you've posted.
