Gables New York

I was very pleased with Gables New York. The purchase and installation of custom shades in my family room and kitchen went off without a hitch. Jody and Jim are a great design and install team. Jody has an great eye for color integration and design and Jim installed them patiently and expertly.

I hired Gables as they are a local business in my neighborhood and everything I researched online led me to them. I went to the store without an appointment, the staff was very accommodating despite being quite busy. I knew what I didn't want but they guided me to what I had visioned. Jody came to my home and was very efficient and friendly taking measurements and guiding me to what blinds would be best for my kitchen. Jim installed my blinds pretty quickly. Couldn't be happier. I have 13 more windows to go, I will definitely be back for the rest.

We used Gables when we purchased a house and wanted to replace the window treatments. We found them because we wanted HunterDouglas Duette top-down, bottom-up shades and preferred to work with a small local business than going to a national chain. Jody and Jim are easy to work with and help find what is right for you. Jody handles the consultation and sales and Jim measures and installs. It is truly a family business. Jody is accessible by text, which made it easy to coordinate appointments and get status updates. We had hoped to receive the shades in time for us to move in, but due to some unexpected changes with production at the factories, the items were a bit delayed. In the end, this probably was better because we were completely unpacked and when the shades arrived they provided the finishing touches to the rooms. Jody provided paper shades while we were waiting so we could have privacy, because we had removed the previous owner's blinds. The Duette shades are exactly what we wanted and look wonderful. We love the top-down, bottom-up feature and the cordless feature. They are sheer and let in a lot of light, but provide plenty of privacy. There was one shade with some defects and when we reported it to Jody, she came out the next day, took a video testimony and began the arrangements for a replacement to be sent. But of the 19 items we ordered, only one had any issues. We feel the investment into these shades was well worth it, and are happy we worked with Gables through this process.

I must begin saying ,being a Perfectionist, I found it very important that Jody and her staff are-very detail oriented .They are extremely Courteous ,Patient and Knowledgeable and Return all phone calls almost immediately .Jody and her staff always on the site were able to complete 34 beautiful Hunter Douglas and Custom drapery treatments in a timely manner, to our Perfect satisfaction,with the end result making our new home a Beautiful Showplace.Thanx Again Alfredo and Mariella .

After living with paper shades for nearly two years on the sliding doors in my living room and contemplating the possibilities of a “special” treatment for the focal point of the entire floor, I visited Jody Hall at Gables. Jody was warm, patient and a great listener! I was sure about not wanting verticals but didn't really know what else was available. After carefully listening to my hearts desire, Jody showed me some possibilities, more than I more than I could have imagined. An appointment was scheduled to our mutual convenience and she came with a great amount of selections in various price ranges with which to choose. After a no rush decision making process, we narrowed it down to my favorite three. Jody gave me the cost of each and a decision was made to purchase the Hunter Douglas Luminette vertical sheers. I was told it would take approximately 10 days to manufacture and I would be notified when they were available for installation. Since Gables is a full service decorating service, I was also able to pick Jody’s designer sense regarding other aspects of the room to which she offered viable suggestions. The blinds were ready as approximated and an installation appointment was set to accommodate my schedule. Jim Hall, also the owner of Gables, was as warm and friendly as Jody, not to mention skilled, talented and accommodating. He carefully took his time in setting up the mechanics of the blind with detailed attention and transformed this room in to more than I could have hoped for. The blind sat perfectly level and really makes the room. The installation process was professional, detailed, neat and orderly. As if that weren't enough, Jim also hung a very heavy mirror for me at no additional cost with the same precision he demonstrated in the installation of the window covering. The mirror in this particular area was also inspired by suggestions made by Jody! All in all, this was a most positive experience and a relationship that I’m sure will continue as I tackle other decorating needs to make my house feel like a home!
