Phillip from Newport Custom Shutters recently installed beautifully hand-crafted shutters in our newly remodeled kitchen bay window. I was so impressed by his eye for detail and his ability to customize to unusual shapes. He was able to accommodate for the locking mechanisms and crank handles on the side windows of the bay, as well as the differences in the height of the window base. The shutters were painted in an exact match of our window trim and Phillip was extremely professional and patient as installation was delayed by the kitchen remodel. Three other companies didn't even come close to Phillip's vision of the space during the initial quote visits and one well-known brand couldn't accommodate the dimensions at all. I was so happy to have found Newport Custom Shutters as they created the perfect (and useful) final touch to my new kitchen!

Phillip is amazing - we are so satisfied with our shutter installation in our family room. Our home was built in 1923 so the windows were no longer square and we were worried that shutters were not feasible. Phillip came to the house, took careful measurements and returned 2 weeks later with a perfectly crafted set of shutters for all our windows. He took great care with the installation to be sure that everything was level and closed properly. Another huge plus is that he used our exact color of trim for the shutters which created a seamless transition from the window to the shutter. We hired him again to do another set of shades as well. He is so friendly and prompt -- I strongly recommend him!

Phillip is an amazing artisan--I wish I had found him first. I had another unnamed company make shutters for my new home including shutters for a sliding glass door. I was appalled when the shutters for the sliding glass doors weren't what I had been told they would be and then actually fell after installation. I found Newport Custom Shutters on Houzz, contacted them and received an immediate reply. Set up a time to come to my home to discuss possible solutions for the sliding glass door--he measured and was on his way. A few weeks later he came back with the most beautiful shutters for my sliding glass doors. Well worth the money!

Phillip of Newport Custom Shutters just completed the installation of exterior shutters on our home. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the shutters. Our home is colonial in style and the shutters add a lot to the appearance of the home. Throughout the process, Phillip was knowledgeable, professional, and kind. He even came out a second time to measure the shutters when I had a question about the dimensions. We had shutters installed on all four sides of the house. The installation was not easy as on one side there is a steep drop off to the street. Newport Custom Shutters was the only firm that I found which measured, built, and installed custom shutters. The firm has my highest recommendation.
