Lancaster County Housewrights

We had a great experience with Lancaster County Housewrights! Jeff and his guys were excellent. Professionalism is clear to see in everything they do. They show up on time, great communication throughout the project, use good quality material, know their craft, pay attention to details, and clean up after themselves every day. We made adjustments and changes, they adapted and still finished everything in a timely manner. Here are photos of two out of the three projects they did for us. First we needed a "shed" build, which didn't look like a shed. So it had to have an outside entrance but look like part of the house. It's perfect! Even the finishes on the inside are perfect. They matched the paint exactly (Thanks Randy!). The second project is the remodel of out outdoor patio ceiling. He made our own design work and even reconfigured the electric to make the rope light work separately from the recessed lights. As you can see, the end result is awesome! We would work with them again in a heartbeat. Actually, we are contemplating building an outdoor kitchen and redoing the house entrance. If these ideas comes to fruition, we know who we're hiring, Lancaster County Housewrights.

We were very pleased with the finished project as Jeff gave us plenty of useful suggestions as we were deciding on finishes and design. As a result, we are blessed with a very functional, but beautiful extra bedroom and bathroom.

We bought our home a few years ago and Jeff and his team have worked on many projects in our home from the staircase to our living room, and he is now remodeling our kitchen. I highly recommend Lancaster County Housewrights for projects requiring attention to detail and a highly finished look. We hired them to add an exterior door and a bathroom with pocket doors to our detached garage. The project involved the addition of HVAC and propane plus running water and sewage to the garage. Jeff was great to work with and offered many really great suggestions for our design and the use of the space. He worked very hard to get things turned around in a timely manner and was sensitive to some specific scheduling needs that we had. We couldn't be more thrilled with the finished result and we have received many complements on how good the space looks. As an example of the degree to which he works to make sure things look right: he had to come over to make some adjustments on a couple of outlets, and it caught my attention that when he was reattaching all of the outlet covers, he was making sure that the slots of the screws were all exactly level with the ground. His eye for detail means that the finished result will look great! In the spirit of full disclosure, I knew Jeff as a friend before we hired him for this project (although we hired him based on high recommendations, his design ideas and the competitiveness of his bid). However, regardless of his friendship, the quality of his work speaks for itself and it is based on how pleased we are with that work that I can give him such a positive recommendation. We will definitely be considering him for future projects and others should as well.

We hired Jeff and Lancaster County Housewrights after a leaking dishwasher destroyed our kitchen. They had done work for several local homeowners and came highly recommended. Their craftsmanship and attention detail make them a company we will rehire for all of our home improvement needs! They are great guys who do great work and they turned our nightmare into our dream kitchen!

Absolutely fantastic experience! My wife and I bought a house that needed major renovation work. We hired Jeff. Over several years (we renovated in phases) he redid our master bathroom, foyer, basement, powder room and laundry room. He also installed a wood stove and laid stonework around it. We couldn't be happier with the work Jeff did and would strongly recommend him to anyone who wants high quality craftsmanship completed on time and within budget. To this day my wife and I still comment about how nice his work looks. Hire Jeff and I promise you that you'll be pleased with the result.

Jeff is a true artist and has great attention to detail. His work is high quality and finds joy in creating and making things beautiful. We love everything he has worked on for us and for our family! Jeff is also a great conversationalist! :-)

Jeff has done two main projects for me. First he did the plumbing for my washer and dryer as I was renovating my mudroom. This he actually did twice, the first time was when we moved into our house and there was no plumbing whatsoever, then when I renovated the room I want to change the layout of the room. Haven't had any issues with it since! The second and most recent job was replacing the tip part of my chimney, along with the section of roof surrounding the chimney. The chimney was leaning and the roof around it was rotting due to a leak. Jeff was able to complete this within less than 2 days and I haven't had any leaking issues thus far!

Jeff Troyer is an amazing carpenter, has unique ideas and is a true, trustworthy professional. He crafted custom sliding barn doors from old Lancaster County, PA barn wood for our new home and they are absolutely the best feature in our home.
