High quality work and excellent communications. The job was completed on time, site control and cleanup were very professional, and they are very nice people to work with. Highly recommended.
We have used Meister Painting and Remodeling for the exterior and interior of our current home. Their crew is always on time, polite with great attention to detail. We also hired them to paint our new barn and will be using them for our new house when it's complete. Great company!
Received an estimate
I asked Jeremy Meister to come give me a quote to paint the interior of my small 2 bedroom 2 bath house, approx. 1500 sq. ft. There were a few spots that needed patching but nothing major. I was removing all furniture from the rooms and all pictures off the walls. His quote was $15,900. That is a ridiculously high amount of money to paint an interior of a small house. I went with a more professional paint contractor that gave me a quote of $3,875 and did a great job. I do not know why Jeremy was trying to swindle me; but I can not recommend him for work he does.
Comment from Meister Painting and Remodeling:
Good morning Mr. Kalt. I am sending you this email in regards to the review you wrote on Houzz and the recent phone conversation you had with my office secretary Sarah who also happens to be my oldest daughter. In the review you wrote on Houzz you said I was trying to "swindle" you. The definition of swindle is...Use deception to deprive someone of money or possessions. It also says... A fraudulent scheme or action. I understand if you thought the estimate was too high for you but I would like you to know that in the 27 years I have been in business I have never used deception in my business dealings or cheated anyone out of one penny. I believe in always giving as much detail as possible so absolutely nothing is hidden. I believe in always telling the truth to the homeowner no matter what. I have wonderful, honest men that work for me that I believe in paying fair so they can support their families. I stress to every person at every business meeting that we are to do our best at all times, be respectful and always tell the truth. You said in your review that you hired a more professional company. I arrived at your house on time, took detailed notes, thanked you for letting me bid the work, sent a detailed estimate out the very next day and did a follow up call to make sure you received the estimate. Mr. Kalt there is nothing more I could have done to be more professional. In writing that I tried to "swindle you" your review was meant to hurt me and tear down my character. I reviewed the notes I took for your project and the estimate I sent you. I feel it was a fair estimate for the repairs, prep work and painting to ensure a quality job that would look great and most importantly... last. As for the phone conversation you had with Sarah I would like you to know she was in tears when she called me to tell me about it. Sarah started working with me at the office one year ago this month. She is a sweet, honest and an extremely hard working woman. I could not be more proud of her and the adult she has become. I love every single day that we get to work together. She has had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people that we do work for and has grown in the past year because of it. I told her not to let one person who is acting ugly bring her down. I believe you were rude and for that I am disappointed in you.
What makes a successful remodel of a home? The people actually performing the work along with countless creative ideas, collaboration, communication and, of course, money. Our ten (10) year old home in Cordillera Ranch was tired and needed a facelift. Our project began as an interior repainting project but quickly became a complicated and sophisticated remodel involving most areas of our home. I spent countless hours accumulating ideas and information from many sources, including the internet; but then had to figure out how to implement and refine the ideas to fit into our home. Jeremy Meister was my partner in this mission from the beginning of the project. We bounced ideas off one another and he always helped me think through each new idea/concept I brought to him. Jeremy quickly jumped from being just my painting contractor to being my general contractor and friend who made things happen with his vast network of very courteous and skilled employees and subcontractors who had a "we can do it" approach and attitude. Everyone Jeremy sent into my home was respectful of my property, my tastes, and the disruption to my life caused by the remodel. They were always excited about a new aspect of the project and seemed to enjoy seeing the project evolve. Even when I changed my mind along the way, Jeremy never once got annoyed with me. He always had a good sense of which of my internet discoveries would work and add value to my home and which needed to be tweaked or discarded. The quality of work and the final product that I have is wonderful and I am very proud and excited about my remodeled home. Jeremy was always excited about the project and not concerned only about his profit or markup. If I wanted to purchase my own products/materials or use trades that were not under his control to accomplish some unique designs or results, he was fine with it and worked well with everyone who was a part of the transformation of our home. We really did have a unique partnership that made sense to both of us and was always productive, positive and fun. Would I hire Jeremy Meister again - absolutely and I have already referred him to numerous friends who are embarking on remodel/painting projects. Those he has already begun to work with are very satisfied with him and his guys.
we completely gutted our house, did and addition, built a shop and studio, redid the entire exterior. This is the 3rd house we have done over the years. Jeremy and his team were professional, easy to work with as the project evolved, and the results were outstanding. We get compliments almost weekly from all the neighborhood and have referred him multiple times to others. If he has a backlog be patient as he always beat all other bidders in price and quality.
I contracted for multiple things on my home, however there were several jobs that never were touched and/or repaired as I thought were going to happen. The work that was done was done well and satisfactory, but it left me having to search and find another contractor to finish other multiple jobs that I wanted done in the first place. They will only do what they want, and nevermind the other stuff you think will be included.
