Wood, White and Wavy

After living in this house for 10 years, the owners of this Holliston, MA kitchen wanted a change! They requested a lighter, modern and warm kitchen that would work with the way they wanted to live in the space. We accomplished this by removing a wall that closed off the kitchen from the rest of the living area and choosing finishes that were both modern and practical. The completed kitchen creates an open and inviting transition into the house that connects the entire living area where the family spends most of their time together.

The natural light was a huge consideration in the layout of this kitchen. By removing an old wall, we opened up the kitchen to the family room and allowed tons of natural light into the space. Photography : Dan Callahan

To keep with a simple monolithic look on the island, we used equally sized drawer bases and modified the drawers under the sink to accommodate the plumbing pipes. The raised wood top on the island helps separate the prep area from the seating area. Photography: Dan Callahan

The wood top on the island is the real focal point of this kitchen. We wrapped it around the entire seating area of the island and added a mitered waterfall edge. Photography: Dan Callahan

The maple lower cabinets pair beautifully with the white uppers and help to ground the space. A showstopping backsplash was selected to help add some texture & dimension to the space. Photography: Dan Callahan
