Basement Bar & Stage Creates Night Club Vibe

The homeowners were looking to take their unfinished basement space and transform it into an area to entertain as well as relax. The family of five loves to play interesting and unusual musical instruments, so a built-in stage was designed to create the perfect backdrop for a performance. Smooth painted wainscot panels combined with a rough brick veneer created a sophisticated yet unexpected look.

A custom designed wet bar has ample storage for various glassware and spirits. An under counter refrigerator, built-in microwave and deep sink make entertaining in this space a breeze. Wire mesh in an antique finish was installed in the cabinet fronts for a unique visual texture. The brushed brass foot rail follows the contemporary lines of the curved countertop while also offering a traditional pub feel.

Lighting and color combinations were critical in pulling the entire feel of the space together. Ceilings were not to be forgotten. The recessed tray ceiling details were painted a metallic copper and back lit with dim-able lighting. Directional spot lights were installed to highlight the stage, while recessed can lights on dimmer controls offered mood lighting for this truly unique space.

The basement bathroom was remodeled to reflect the same unique style as the newly finished basement. The tubular metal vanity legs along with a brushed granite top offered texture and dimension.
