Wyckoff NJ Project

This was a project wherein the owner purchased a new home, designed by another architect. Our office was retained to design all of the interiors and manage the construction of same. There was an exterior porch & pool house added as well, but all of the fun stuff was doing the interiors :-) That work is still in progress.

This client purchased an existing basic home located in Wyckoff, NJ. Liggero Architecture designed 100% of the interiors for this residence & was heavily involved in the build out all components. This project required significant design & detailing of all new archways, built in furnishings, ceiling treatments as well as exterior modifications.

The coffer is 14" deep. Unfortunately the existing foyer window had to remain. Had budget permitted a new large window would have been installed. Our recommendation was to add hanging fabric tapestries above the first floor level, to fill the unadorned upper wall surfaces.

This is a photo of the three part archway leading into the two story great room.....Originally this was just a large opening. By adding this assembly, we created order and presented a beautiful entry feature, announcing that you are walking into a special space. The knee wall arches allow for an open feel and of course match all of the other millwork details throughout the firs...More

This is the view, looking at the major archway leading from the family room, into the kitchen. The archway to the left is the archway leading to the kitchen from the dining room. off to the right in the kitchen is the access way to the rear yard, which is the same detail used for the entry into the home office.

This is the view, looking through the smaller hallway arch, looking into the family room. The coffers are all reclaimed barn timbers, hollowed out for use as coffers. This juxtaposition of the rustic family room finishes, adjacent to the fine traditional finishes, seems to work here, although, I was initially resistant to it.

This is a photo of the fireplace in the family room. The structure was woof framed. All of the brick & stone is thin veneer. The firebox is the original prefab unit that came with the house.....We tried to obscure that fact as best as possible :-)...The coffers are all reclaimed barn timbers, hollowed out for use as coffers. this is a photo of the TV stand custom designed & fabricated for the client, located in their family room. The fireplace mantel is former barn timber, which is over 180 years old. We used a solid timber at the front & hollowed out the rear segments which were joined, to cut down on the enormous weight. The herringbone brick adds to the stone & rustic nature of this space. The c...More

This is a view looking out of the office, into the entry foyer. I would have liked to add applied moulding detailing to the ceiling, but the client was not in agreement. :-(

This is an existing kitchen. We left the cabinetry as is, but added a new coffered ceiling & lighting. Of course the archways are also new as is the access to the rear yard. The archway looking into the family room was new, added to create more of a link between the two spaces.
