Classic Modern Reinvention

When I began this project there were architectural elements that I felt were missing from the house and architectural details that needed to be changed, We began by analyzing the flow of the existing home and decided to relocate the main staircase leading to the basement as well as turning the oversized master walk in closet into a beautiful master sitting room. We renovated the entire home and gave our clients a current, updated, modern feel that welcomes family, friends, pets and neighbors!

The open kitchen / family room floor plan allows my clients to gather with family & friends. The over sized, velvet sofa is covered in outdoor fabric for added durability. The stained wood coffee table is a perfect scale for not only the sofa, but the size of the room. Simple window treatments and carefully placed artwork and accessories provide a beautiful backdrop for the ov...More

Placing a round table is a perfect shape for conversation. The simple, clean lines allows the cane backed chairs to take center stage. Accessorizing with one of a kind pieces creates the authenticity of the space and provides visual interest. Mixing stone with wood and soft fabrics creates a textural mix to a room. I love layering a room. Grasscloth wallpaper against soft roman sheers and wool draperies with simple hardware detail does just that. The oversized upholstered headboard and crystal table lamps create the interesting focal point for this wall. The pair of chaise lounges allow my clients to enjoy their room while watching TV without having to be in their bed. Ahhhh, the simpl...

I love master bathrooms! This before and after was quite amazing! We combined linear travertine flooring with a small scaled mosaic floor in the shower. Duo shower heads allow two people to shower at the same time. Adding interesting furniture pieces that offer additional storage as well as visual interest always helps to aide in making a bathroom look more special and inviting...More

The open kitchen great room floor plan is a great way for families to entertain and enjoy each others company. In this image, I saved the original cabinets and had them painted a soft mushroom tone while bringing in new appliances and designing a new oversized kitchen island in a rustic, stained, wood. The island provides additional seating, additional storage as well as a wine...More

This powder room has a simple, clean, modern, unadorned feel and look. A floating stone vanity with a rectangular, integrated under mount sink offers a clean appeal. The faucet was off set in order to avoid moving the existing plumbing and the wallpaper was added for a nice but light textural feel and look. We kept the soffit and treated it as the wall to allow the height of th...More

I love the oversized runner that we placed in this master bathroom. Something that you don't always see in a bathroom. The soft mushroom painted cabinets play off the cabinets in the kitchen and the polished nickel faucets mix lovely with the oil rubbed bronze wall sconces. Oversized mirror frames add additional interest opposed to glueing mirrors to the wall and the mosaic til...More

I love supporting local artists. This is an abstract series that we had framed and I love the way this contemporary art places so well in a transitional room. Accentuating the ceiling height with this art play off nicely with the reclaimed, porcelain wood fireplace wall and blue, gray, drapery panels in the dining room. Photo credit: Janet Mesic Mackie

This close up shot explains why mixing in your accessories is such an important detail to a room and should not be overlooked towards the end of a project. Many times, the accessories is the single element that creates the "wow" to a room! Photo Credit: Janet Mesic Mackie

In this shot you can see that we added reclaimed wood beams, oversized light fixtures that coordinate with one another, over sized art as well as studio style art, and how a living room / great room can integrate with a dining room when the selections all coordinate with one another.
