If we did our job properly, you should not be able to easily distinguish the addition from the original home. This family wanted to expand a modest sitting area adjacent to their kitchen for larger gatherings and to accommodate a pool table. We created a new space connected at the end wall of the existing room and converted the conventional fireplace to a see-thru one open to the old and new spaces. The new space is distinguished by its vaulted ceiling, which is not present in the original home. The angled end wall has expansive views to woodlands; the south side wall opens onto a new deck and to the swimming pool beyond, while the opposite wall supports a wet bar and built-in seating. A little while after this addition was completed we joined forces with this same family to create a new home on Cape Cod. See Nautilus House.
