Oregon Master Bathroom Renovation

An Oregon couple knew they could get more from their master bathroom. The bath had ample room. However, it lacked the comfort, convenience features, and ambiance desired by the owners. They also want the home to accommodate them while they age in place.

The first call by the designer was to drop the ceiling which allowed for the installation of recessed lighting and high volume exhaust ports connected to a remote blower. It also gives guests a better sense of shelter and proportion. Access into the shower was eased by recessing the shower pan into the floor thus eliminating the need for a traditional curb. In-floor heat was utilized throughout … even in the shower!

The cabinetry made from African Mahogany was designed with simple lines to give it a Pacific rim style. The two sinks are separated by a tall linen cabinet with mirrored doors. At each side of the linen cabinet are open shelves personalizing each space even more.

Particular attention was given to the fixtures and appliances that were fitted into the space; a toilet equipped with a fully featured “Washlet” seat was placed in a private water closet, dual under-mount lavatories topped by sleek single handle faucets are sensational in their simplicity. Mirrored medicine cabinets that feature integrated lighting complete the sink areas.

A Jason Signature series spa tub was specified to replace the original. The tub was placed in a wood framed platform and under-mounted with 2cm Jerusalem Gold Limestone. The riser of the tub platform was fitted with a matching slab of stone that is completely removable. This feature allows full access to the mechanics of the tub! Dividing the shower from the tub is a special signature design reverse-etched into the shower glass panel. This pattern is integrated into the tile shower walls with a 3” chiseled stone liner. Centered over the Jason tub with it’s waterfall faucet is a spectacular crystal chandelier that when lit, becomes the focal point of this room that has become the health and wellness center of the home.
