Lily's pretty bedroom bathed in romantic cross light from several sources. Vintage wallpaper is hard to find and hard to hang, but so worth it. The curtains are vintage florals, and the floor is cheap and cheerful painted plywood. Eclectic accents come from placing side by side a painted Hungarian chest paired with a fanciful Italian dresser.

A wall-to-wall sofa moment in the media room that adjoins the living room and the kitchen. The family snuggle up here in a cloud of frill-free comfort and stripy duvets. Sectional was custom designed for the space by Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture and covered in machine-washable white linen slipcovers.

Pamela's living space is modern, elegant and a little bit Zen. Our job was to bring in a layer of comfy romance, so I focused on furnishing the space with mushy comfort, pure white slipcovers, warm woods, breezy linens and beautiful flowers, while respecting the modern edges.
We used soft, white-linen-covered furniture, flowing linen gauze curtains to divide up the open plan spaces, flowers, of course, and a chandelier to add twinkle. In her previous home, Pamela's collection of beautiful books were displayed on open shelves in a chaotic but organized way, but the bookshelves did not translate and so we housed the entire collection in cabinets on either side of the fireplace behind heavy doors of reclaimed wood. The floaty, feminine painting of tutus over the fireplace actually has an edge to it, as it is built up from layers of plaster and has a cement like texture.

Embracing the vintage, and her love for Shabby Chic style, this coastal beach client wanted to retain her original stove, as well as her original kitchen cabinets. We also kept all her vintage china and old appliances. We removed the old tile counter and backsplash, and replaced them with a butcherblock countertop from IKEA, and beadboard backsplash. The farmhouse sink and bridge faucet and vintage style chandelier were also purchased for the new space. Since my client doesn't use the old stove very often, she opted for no hood above the stove. The breakfast nook is quite tiny yet still suitable for morning breakfasts for two.

This room has a formal Maria Antoinette quality that promises total comfort and full-on romance with no unnecessary chaos. An oversize bed has been transformed with a white denim slipcover; the teal bedding is from Shabby's Petticoat Collection. Pale blue velvet gives a pair of Shabby white vintage formal chairs a new lease on life, an oversize carved mirror anchors the romance in the room, and the teal velvet curtains bring a pop of drama into an otherwise soft palette.
